Maextro S800
The Maextro S800 (Chinese: 尊界S800; pinyin: Zūnjiè S800) is a battery electric full-size luxury sedan manufactured by JAC Group under the Maextro brand in collaboration with HIMA, Huawei's multi-brand automotive alliance. It is positioned as a flagship vehicle of HIMA. OverviewOn November 26, 2024, Maextro S800 was officially released at a Huawei's Mate brand ceremony in China, Pre-orders have been launched and the price is expected to be 1,000,000 and 1,500,000 yuan.[1][2] The S800 is the first model jointly developed by Huawei and JAC Group. During the cooperation between the two parties, JAC stated that it committed its top-quality resources to Maextro and promote it as the top project.[3] The model introduces the "Zhizun New Luxury" design language, and adhering to a design standard dubbed as "8S", which emphasizes super cruise, maneuverability, information perception, privacy, space-to-ground network connectivity, AI assistance, active protection, and reliability. The exterior features unique elements such as vertical and horizontal headlights with starry elements crafted with crystal and metallic finishes. These starry elements can also be found on its door handles, and interior ceiling.[3] Maextro claims its body shape follows a golden ratio. The interior employs natural materials, some were claimed to be processed through over 100 steps for precision craftsmanship.[4] The Maextro S800 is built on the second-generation Tuling platform, marketed as Tuling Longxing (Chinese: 途灵龙行; lit. 'dragon travel'), a chassis architecture that has undergone five years of development, which incorporates advanced capabilities in intelligent driving and cockpit integration. The S800 is also developed to meet L3 advanced driver assistance standards by utilizing Huawei’s ADS advanced intelligent driving assistance system. The ADS introduces advanced parking features such as automatic parking, automatic summoning, and other customizable parking preferences. It features Huawei's proprietary 192-line LiDAR for enhanced perception, which allows for clearer, farther detection and quicker reactions, while the deep learning technology is claimed to improve recognition of road environments, enabling more accurate and responsive decision-making. The system also benefits from Huawei's Instinct Safety Network and extensive training data, updated every five days, with cloud computing power reaching 7.5E FLOPS.[5] PowertrainThe S800 is available with either a dual or triple-motor drivetrain, with power supplied by either purely from a battery, or supplemented by a range extender petrol engine. The battery for all versions has a NMC cathode chemistry and is supplied by CATL. The range extender's 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine is not mechanically connected to the wheels, and it has a battery capacity of 63.26 kWh, allowing for an electric-only CLTC range rating of 272–371 km (169–231 mi) depending on the model. All motors in the drivetrain are supplied by Huawei, and all configurations have a 160 kW (215 hp; 218 PS) front motor. Dual motor models have a single 230 kW (308 hp; 313 PS) rear motor, while triple motor models have 237.5 kW (318 hp; 323 PS) motors individually powering each rear wheel.[6][7]
