3. Originally Lacaille lettered this star with neighboring V539 Ara as ν. Bečvář's atlas, Boss' catalogue, and Tirion's 1st edition of Sky Atlas 2000.0 erroneously lettered it as υ^2. Subsequently Tirion removed it in Uranometria 2000.0 and the 2nd edition of Sky Atlas 2000.0.
4. Lacaille originally lettered it as ρ and Bode designated it as "1.ρ".
