The Center for the Advanced Study of Human Paleobiology (CASHP) describes mission as "to undertake research that addresses fundamental problems in human evolution."[10] Faculty come from multiple GW departments. CASHP also houses GW's human paleobiology graduate program.[10] The center contains seven laboratories: Evolutionary Neuroscience, Hard Tissue Biology, Hominid Paleobiology, Primate Behavioral Ecology, Primate Genomics, Social Cognition, and Stone Age Archaeology.[11]
