Lion City Sailors FC (women)
The Lion City Sailors FC (LCS) is a Singaporean women's football club affiliated with Lion City Sailors FC and currently playing in the Women's Premier League (WPL). LCS have won two league titles in 2022, 2023, 2024 and was the runners up five times. HistoryThe club was affiliated with Home United[1] and had its name changed to Lion City Sailors FC in February 2020 when Home United was privatised by Forrest Li, who owns Sea Limited, a tech conglomerate, and changed to Lion City Sailors FC.[1][2] The team's league debut as the LCS was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic in Singapore which caused a suspension of the WPL from 2020 to 2021.[3] The LCS made it debut in the 2022 season and went on to win that season's title unbeaten with 10 victories and two draws.[4] It also won the 2023 season's championship unbeaten with 17 victories and 1 draw.[5] Consequentially, they were selected as Singapore's representative for the 2024–25 AFC Women's Champions League.[4] On 24 June 2024, LCS was defeated by Geylang International FC 2–1, ending their unbeaten streak since the start of the 2022 season. They were unbeaten for 37 matches with 34 victories and draws draws.[4] On 15 September 2024, LCS won their third consecutive Women’s Premier League title after a 6-0 victory over Still Aerion.
