Lena is an unincorporated community in southern Jackson Township , Parke County , in the U.S. state of Indiana .[ 2] A portion of Lena also extends into Clay County , just north of Carbon . This portion of Lena is referred to as Marysville.[ 3]
History
Lena was platted in 1870 when the railroad was extended to that point.[ 4] A post office was established at Lena in 1880, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1936.[ 5]
Geography
Lena is located at 39°36′18″N 87°06′26″W / 39.60500°N 87.10722°W / 39.60500; -87.10722 at an elevation of 689 feet.
