JakeFuture27, or simply Jake Future, is an American internet personality and online streamer. In June 2023, Future gained popularity on the internet after the online streamer Adin Ross visited his home in New Jersey, where Ross would give him a deal on the then-new live streaming platform, Kick. Future has collaborated with many streamers and celebrities throughout his streaming career, including people like Sneako and Drake. Personal lifeFuture resides in New Jersey, reportedly with his mother and grandmother,[2] and was born with a disability that affects the way he talks and holds his body. In relation to his disability, a video was spread on the internet claiming that his disability was a result of brain damage. The video was later debunked and classified as misinformation.[3] Streaming careerIn June 2023, online streamer Adin Ross surprised Future by visiting his home in Newark, New Jersey, and offered him a life-changing opportunity by giving him an exclusive Kick deal to kickstart his streaming career. He also gifted him a LeBron James-signed basketball, who he was a big fan of. Ross also contributed around $10,000 (2023 USD) towards upgrading Future's computer setup to ensure he had the tools to livestream. In addition, Ross provided $15,000 to Future's mother to assist her with her responsibilities. Before Ross visited Future's home, he had around 7,000 followers on Kick.[2][4] On June 17, 2024, a former employee of Kick named Melissa uploaded a video on YouTube discussing her experience of being an employee for the streaming site and making several accusations against the company, including one that involved a streamer with special needs, whose contract rate was allegedly lowered to a rate that was well below the market expense for a regular paid streamer. Users on the internet speculated that Future, who has special needs, was the streamer that Melissa was talking about. Future would later respond in a post on Twitter by saying that Kick never lowered his deal.[5] On December 9, 2024, Future held a birthday party for himself. Before his birthday party, he invited many streamers he personally knew and had previously collaborated with by directly messaging them via social media. In addition to the party, he also arranged a toy donation drive for underprivileged children. On the day of the party and charity drive, Sneako, an online streamer, would be the only person to show up at his birthday party, despite him inviting every streamer he previously collaborated with. Future later thanked Sneako in a post on Twitter for coming to his birthday party. A day after the party, Sneako voiced his disappointment and frustration towards the streamers Future invited, later exposing that not one streamer replied to his invitation nor wished him a happy birthday.[6][2] On December 26, 2024, rapper and singer, Drake, hosted a Christmas giveaway live on Kick for fans and viewers. In total, Drake gave away 16 prizes. One of those prizes was given to Future, in which the prize consisted of $100,000 and any OVO merchandise he wanted.
