Heard Noises is the eleventh studio album by English musician Matt Berry.[2] It was released on January 24, 2025, through the label, Acid Jazz Records.[3]

Background

Several individuals, including Craig Blundell, Natasha Lyonne, Eric. Johnson, Phil Scraggs, and Rosie McDermott, collaborated with Berry in the production of the album.[3] Heard Noises was Berry's first release since his 2023 instrumental album, Simplicity, and his first studio album featuring vocals since the release of The Blue Elephant in 2021.[4]

Tim Sendra of AllMusic stated in his review of the album "Heard Noises ranks right near the top, and if the sun hits it just right and one squints a little, it might be sitting merrily atop the very summit."[2] Louder Than War gave it a rating of 4.5 out of 5, describing it as a "nice piece of magic to end the polymath's latest statement of intent into complex music yet simple to the ears."[5] Record Collector called Heard Noises "arguably his best album yet" and rated it four out of five.[6] BrooklynVegan referred to the album as "another groovy psych-pop gem", calling it a "A Matt Berry Primer".[1]
