Girard is a town in Burke County , Georgia , United States. The population was 184 in 2020. It is part of the Augusta, Georgia metropolitan area .
History
Girard was incorporated in 1902.[ 4]
Geography
Girard is located at 33°2′28″N 81°42′40″W / 33.04111°N 81.71111°W / 33.04111; -81.71111 (33.040994, -81.711108).[ 5]
According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 3.2 square miles (8.3 km2 ), of which 3.2 square miles (8.2 km2 ) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km2 ), or 1.20%, is water.[ 6]
Girard is located near the South Carolina state line on State Highway 23 .
Demographics
At the 2010 census , there were 156 people living in the town. In 2020, its population grew to 184.
