Gaelcholáiste Chéitinn
Gaelcholáiste Chéitinn (Irish pronunciation: [ˈɡeːl̪ˠxəˌl̪ˠaːʃtʲə ˈçeːtʲɪn̠ʲ]) is an Irish language-medium second-level school in Clonmel in County Tipperary, Ireland. It is part of the Central Technical Institute (CTI) on the Mall and is one of the three educational entities within CTI. The other two are the secondary school, Coláiste Chluain Meala, and CTI Senior College of Further Education. All three institutions operate under the Tipperary Education and Training Board (ETB).[1] HistoryGaelcholáiste Chéitinn, which was established in September 20024, was named after Irish poet Geoffrey Keating.[2] It initially operated under a three-year probationary period.[3] At its opening, the school had 14 first-year pupils. Eleven of these had come from the local Gaelscoil, while the remaining three came from different primary schools in the area. By 2006, the student body had grown to 26.[4] It was officially inaugurated in 2009, by which time the enrollment had reached 95 students.[5] As of 2017, it had an enrollment of 121.[6] References
