Dubai Civil Defense, (Arabic: الدفاع المدني - دبي), formerly known as the General Directorate of Civil Defence - Dubai, is an emergency management organisation in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The department is headed by Lieutenant General Rashid Thani Rashid Al Matrooshi. Dubai Civil Defence is a branch of the UAE Civil Defence General Command, which operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates.

Vehicles

The Dubai Civil Defense has a wide range of vehicles to serve emergency situations and for rescue operations. The Dubai Civil Defense also has Chevrolet Corvette as part of its vehicle array.

In 2015, it was reported that Dubai Civil Defense had placed an initial order for twenty Martin Jetpacks, simulators, and training, for delivery in 2016. The principal application is fire department use for rescue from Dubai's extremely tall buildings.[1][2] Dubai Civil Defense also has a fire boat/ fire jetski and a drone. [3] [4]

Emirates Civil Defence Academy

The Emirates Civil Defence Academy (ECDA) is located in the Warisan area of Dubai. It is responsible for developing human capital to raise the level of functional efficiency of employees, within an integrated framework through current and future programs and plans, in order to achieve the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Interior and the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, to keep pace with the challenges represented by changing work requirements, considering that training leads to the transfer of technical and practical knowledge in a way that enables the employee to face any challenges imposed by the cognitive acceleration within the work environment.
