Dennis Pineda
Dennis "Delta" Garcia Pineda (born May 6, 1974) is a Filipino politician, basketball head coach and businessman from the province of Pampanga in the Philippines. He currently serves as the 33rd Governor of Pampanga.[1] He was a former Vice Governor of the province in the past years, and he was elected in 2019 as the 33rd Governor of the province.[2][3] Previously, he served as the mayor of Lubao from 2001 until 2010. Early life and educationDennis Pineda was born on May 6, 1974 in Quezon City to Rodolfo "Bong" Pineda and Lilia Pineda are from Lubao, Pampanga. He studied Don Bosco Academy, Pampanga for his secondary education. He also studied Guagua National Colleges with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Major in Management and graduated in 1997. Political careerPineda became a Municipal Councilor of Lubao from 1998 to 2001. He served as Mayor of Lubao from 2001 to 2010. He also served as Vice Governor of Pampanga from 2013 to 2019. In 2019, Pineda elected as Governor of Pampanga. Coaching careerIn sport, he is also the head coach of various Pampanga-based basketball teams, most notably, the Pampanga Giant Lanterns of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. In 2023, he brought the Giant Lanterns to their first MPBL Finals appearance, and later, their first MPBL championship.[4] Personal lifePineda is the son of former governor and now-vice governor Lilia Pineda and businessman Rodolfo "Bong" Pineda.
