Plowden is a native of Germantown, Philadelphia, and attended Mastery Charter North School.[1] He was the school's first 1,000-point scorer and was a two-time all-state team selection.[1] Plowden played primarily as a forward and center in high school;[2] he credits his team's coaches, Terrence Cook and Gerald Johnson, for teaching him combined big man and guard skills.[3]
Plowden was named to the All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) second-team in 2020 and the third-team in 2021 and 2022.[6] He was selected to the MAC All-Defensive team in 2022.[6]
Plowden finished his career with the Falcons with 1,618 points and 935 rebounds.[6] He did not miss a game during his college career and is the program leader in games played with 154.[6]
On September 7, 2023, Plowden's rights were traded to the Osceola Magic[12] and on October 18, he signed with the Orlando Magic.[13] However, he was waived on October 21[14] and on November 2, he joined Osceola.[15]
Atlanta Hawks / College Park Skyhawks (2024–present)
On September 27, 2024, Plowden signed with the Atlanta Hawks,[18] but was waived on October 18.[19] Eight days later, he joined the College Park Skyhawks[20] and on December 27, he signed a two-way contract with the Hawks.[21] On January 15, 2025, Plowden made his NBA debut where he made his first seven field goal attempts and finished the game with 19 points in a 110–94 victory over the Chicago Bulls.[22][23]
