Conus abbreviatus
Conus abbreviatus, common name Abbreviated cone snail, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Conidae, the cone snails and their allies.[2] Like all species within the genus Conus, these snails are predatory and venomous. They are capable of "stinging" humans, therefore live ones should be handled carefully. DescriptionThe shell of this species has spots which are more distant from one another and somewhat more regularly disposed than in Conus miliaris.[3] DistributionThis species occurs off the Hawaiian Islands.[3] EcologyLike all species within the genus Conus, these snails are predatory and venomous.
