Chris BerrowChristopher Berrow is a British journalist, radio presenter and continuity announcer. He presents The Newsroom on the BBC World Service, is a continuity announcer at BBC Radio 3 and is a newsreader across BBC radio. BackgroundBerrow studied music at St John's College, Cambridge University.[1] He graduated with a BA (Hons) which was then later converted to an MA (Hons).[2] CareerPrior to working in broadcasting, Berrow taught the guitar.[3] Berrow presented the breakfast show on Cam FM, a student radio station, while at university.[4] He also presented the evening show on the station.[5] As of 2013, Berrow was a broadcast assistant at BBC Radio 2 and a presenter on Fridays afternoons between 2pm and 4pm on Cambridge 105.[1] Also in 2013, Berrow began sitting in for other presenters on BBC Local Radio.[6] In 2015, Berrow began presenting a show on BBC Radio Lincolnshire[7] which was broadcast between 3pm and 6pm on weekdays.[8] Later in 2015, he moved[9] to a 9am-midday Saturday morning slot on the station.[10] As of 2016,[11] he was presenting between midday and 3pm on weekdays on BBC Radio Lincolnshire,[12] in addition to the Saturday morning show.[13] As of 2017, he was no longer appearing on all weekdays on BBC Radio Lincolnshire. In 2017, he began presenting a show on Wednesday evenings on BBC Radio Lincolnshire[14] focussing on the county's present and past music.[15] Also in 2017, he began reading the news and continuity announcing at BBC Radio 3. In 2018, he began reading the news for the BBC World Service's English-language service.[16] From 2019 until 2022, Berrow was a continuity announcer at BBC Radio 4. This role also involved presenting the Shipping Forecast on the station. In 2019, Berrow began co-presenting a new podcast, the Naked Gaming Podcast.[17] He currently co-presents the podcast with Leigh Milner, his wife.[3] In the same year, he began presenting The Newsroom on the BBC World Service,[18] a programme featuring reports from BBC journalists about the latest news. He continues to present the programme. Berrow has reported on videogaming-related stories for the BBC World Service.[19] Berrow is a continuity announcer on BBC Radio 4 Extra. He also reads the news on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 5 Live. He has a TikTok account on which he regularly posts guitar-playing tutorials.[20] Personal lifeBerrow is married to the news presenter and journalist[21] Leigh Milner,[22] who also works for the BBC.[21] References
