Battle of the Zolota Lypa (Russian: Сражение на Золотой Липе) There was a meeting engagement between the 3rd Russian and 3rd Austrian armies, the cadre troops of both armies met, so the battle was very tense, both sides tried to carry out mutual flanking maneuver.[4]

However, the battle soon ended, the Russians were successfully able to defeat the Austrian 11th corps on the Bug, which forced the entire army to stand on the defensive, and then retreat.[5]

The main reason for the failure of the Austrian troops was that they decided to conduct offensive operations against almost twice the size of the enemy, it played a cruel joke on them.[6]

Aftermath

The battle ended with the retreat of the Austrian troops, both sides suffered heavy losses, but the losses of the central powers were greater, as the 11th corps of the Russians defeated the 93rd Landsturmen brigade and captured 3,500 people, while losing 4,670 wounded and killed.[4]
