Badminton was contested at the 1966 GANEFO from 27 November to 7 December 1966. The events were held at the Sangkum Reastr Niyum University Ceremony Hall in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The events held were men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles as well as the men's and women's team competition. The Games also introduced mixed doubles to the competition.[1]
With the absence of the Indonesian team, the Chinese team made a clean sweep in men's singles and won gold in all disciplines.[2] Hosts Cambodia also made history as their players managed to win their first few medals in badminton at the international stage.[3][4]
