Asuksa-nga, California
Asuksa-nga (also Azucsagna or Asucsagna, or Ashuksha-vit in the neighboring Serrano dialect of Shoshone[2]) is a former Tongva-Gabrieleño Californian Native American settlement in the San Gabriel Valley. The meaning of the name is "Skunk place" or "Skunk hill," with Asuksa meaning skunk and the -nga or -vit ending meaning place.[3][4] The site is in Los Angeles County, California.[5][4] It was located where the San Gabriel River exits the San Gabriel Mountains, in present-day Azusa and Duarte.[5] See alsoReferences
