TGR TeamauTOM'S has elected to use the GT500 champion's number "1".
Yuichi Nakayama, who has raced with SARD for six years, leaves the team and the series to focus on the Super Taikyu ST-Q with GR Team Spirit. Sacha Fenestraz returns to the series after a two-year stint in Formula E with Nissan, replacing Nakayama. This move reunites him with Yuhi Sekiguchi for the first time since 2020.
Nissan announced its line-ups on 17 January 2025.[2]
Four-time GT500 champion Ronnie Quintarelli retired from the Super GT Series after the 2024 season to take up the role of NISMO ambassador and advisor to the GT500 program.[17]Mitsunori Takaboshi has been promoted to the main NISMO team from NISMO NDDP to replace the retired Quintarelli, reuniting him with Katsumasa Chiyo, with whom he raced in the NDDP for two seasons in 2022 and 2023. Daiki Sasaki has been promoted back to GT500 after spending a year in GT300 with Kondo Racing, taking over Takaboshi's seat in the NISMO NDDP team.
Team Impul sponsor Marelli which sponsored the team before with previous brand Calsonic for over 43 years ended their association. Tokyo Radiator (TRS) will be the team main sponsor.[18][19]
Anest Iwata Racing has ended its association with Arnage Racing after operating the team for two seasons with the team to run independently. Arnage Racing, which has competed in the series for over 11 years, announced that it will not continue to compete in the 2025 Super GT season.[11]Yuga Furutani has left Anest Iwata Racing after two seasons with the team. Former Nissan GT500 champion Hironobu Yasuda joins the team after a year away from the series and previously competed in Super Taikyu ST-Z with Techno First.[4]
BMW MTeam Studie driver Bruno Spengler who raced with them for two seasons, leaves the team after he ended his association with BMW M at the end of 2024 season.[21]
apr have a new lineup for the Lexus car following the departure of both Kazuto Kotaka and Jin Nakamura from the team and series. Kotaka focuses on Super Formula with KDDITGMGPTGR-DC and also serve as the reserve driver for GT500 Toyota, while Nakamura moves to FRECA with R-ace GP. The team has signed Miki Koyama, who previously raced with R'Qs Motor Sports and also drove for apr in the Super Taikyu ST-X class last season. Additionally, Oliver Rasmussen will make his debut in the series after finishing 19th in the WEC's Hypercar class with Jota Sport. Regarding the GR86 car, the team has switched from Yokohama to Michelin tires. Rikuto Kobayashi left the team to take up a role as the third driver for Saitama Green Brave. While Manabu Orido returns as the full-time driver after a year served as the third driver for the team, and Ryo Ogawa returns to the team as the third driver previously occupied by Orido after a year away in Super Taikyu ST-4 with Endless Sports.[1][4][12]
Pacific Racing Team ended their partnership with virtual YouTuber agency VSPO!.[22]
INGING Motorsport has acquired a new title sponsor; car wash equipment manufacturer Hyper Water has replaced muta, and the team will now compete under the name Hyper Water Racing INGING. The team has also signed former F4 TGR-DC Racing School driver Kazuhisa Urabe as the third driver, replacing Hiroki Katoh, who is now focusing on his management role with the team.[4]
Porsche will make its Super GT return for the first time since 2021. Porsche Carrera Cup Japan team Seven x Seven Racing will make their debut in Super GT for this season as they entered a Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) car with Yokohama Tires, and the team operated by KF Motorsport which owned by Two-time GT500 champion Kiyoto Fujinami. Fujinami himself moved from Team Mach, and former race winner Tsubasa Kondo joins the team as he returns to the series after two years where previously competed in GT World Challenge Asia with Porsche Centre Okazaki.[14]

Keishi Ishikawa left GAINER after competed with them for five seasons. Super Taikyu ST-Z driver Kazuki Oki joins the team where previously he served the team as the third driver for the final round last season.[8]
Calendar
The provisional calendar for 2025 was confirmed on 1 August 2024, which consists of eight races.[24] The series will race abroad for the first time since 2019, and they will return to race at Sepang International Circuit for the first time since 2013.[25]
