2024–25 Michigan Wolverines women's basketball team Intercollegiate basketball season
The 2024–25 Michigan Wolverines women's basketball team represents the University of Michigan during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's basketball season . The Wolverines are led by head coach Kim Barnes Arico in her thirteenth year, and play their home games at the Crisler Center . This season marks the program's 43nd season as a member of the Big Ten Conference .
Previous season
The Wolverines finished the 2023–24 season with a 20–14 record, including 9–9 in Big Ten play to finish in sixth place. They were ranked the No. 9 seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament , and were eliminated in the first round by Kansas in overtime.[ 1]
Offseason
On May 21, 2024, Justine Raterman was named an assistant coach at Michigan, replacing the departing Harry Rafferty.[ 2] [ 3]
Michigan had six players enter the transfer portal, the most notable transfer was All-Big Ten first-team junior guard, Laila Phelia .[ 4] [ 5] [ 6] Michigan signed the ESPN-ranked number 4 recruiting class consisting of five incoming freshmen, the highest-ranked class in program history.[ 7]
