• The Kollegienkirche, Salzburg, designed by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach, is dedicated.
• In Paris, France, the Hôtel de Vendôme, designed for the Carthusians by Jean-Baptiste Alexandre Le Blond, is completed.[2]
