কুলি চৰাই (ইংৰাজী: Asian Koel, বৈজ্ঞানিক নাম : Eudynamys scolopaceus) ([3][4]) কুকুলিফৰমিছ (Cuculiformes) বৰ্গৰ অন্তৰ্ভুক্ত এবিধ চৰাইৰ প্ৰজাতি। এই চৰাইবিধ দক্ষিণ এছিয়া, চীন আৰু দক্ষিণ-পূব এছিয়া ত পোৱা যায়। এই বিধ চৰায়ে কাউৰীৰ বাহত কণী পাৰি পোৱালি ডাঙৰ কৰে। পূৰ্ণবয়স্ক কুলি চৰায় প্ৰধানত: ফল-মূল খায়। [5] কুলি চৰাইৰ মধুৰ কণ্ঠৰ বাবে বিভিন্ন ভাষা-সাহিত্যত এক গুৰুত্বপূৰ্ণ স্থান দখল কৰি আছে।

কুলি চৰাই এবিধ ডাঙৰ আকাৰৰ, দীঘল-নেজী চৰাইৰ প্ৰজাতি। দেহৰ দৈৰ্ঘ্য ৩৯-৪৬ ছে: মি: আৰু ওজন ১৯০-৩২৭ গ্ৰাম[7][8] মতা কুলি চৰাই চিকিচিকিয়া ক’লা (glossy bluish-black),ঠোঁট পাতল সেউজ-মুগা (pale greenish grey), চকুৰ মণিবলয় ডাঠ ৰঙা (crimson) আৰু ঠেং ছাই বৰণৰ। মাইকী চৰাইৰ মূৰৰ ওপৰভাগ মটিয়া আৰু তলৰ অংশত ৰঙা-মুগা বৰণৰ আঁচ আছে। দেহৰ পৃষ্ঠ অংশ আৰু ডেউকাত ডাঠ মটিয়া বৰণতে বগা দাগ কিছুমান আছে। দেহৰ তলৰ অংশ বগা আৰু ঘনকৈ আঁচ থকা। অন্যন্য উপ-প্ৰজাতি সমূহৰ ৰং আৰু আকাৰ ভিন্ন হোৱা দেখা যায়।[9] প্ৰজননৰ সময়ত কুলি চৰাই খুৱেই সৰৱ হৈ উঠা দেখা যায় (দক্ষিণ এছিয়াত মাৰ্চৰ পৰা অগষ্টলৈকে)। ঠাইভেদে কুলিৰ মাতৰ কিছু পাৰ্থক্য থাকিলেও আটাইতকৈ পৰিচিত মতা কুলিৰ মাতটো হৈছে “কুউ-উউ” ধৰণৰ। মতা কুলি চৰায়ে সাধাৰণতে ‘কিক-কিক-কিক” বুলি মতা শুনা যায়। [9]

বসতিস্থল

কুলি চৰাইৰ পোৱালি

কুলি চৰাই বিশেষকৈ কাঠনি আৰু খেতি পথাৰ আদিত পোৱা যায়। এই প্ৰজাতিটো নতুন বসতিস্থলত আবাদী বিস্তাৰ কৰাত অভ্যস্ত বুলি জনা যায়[11]

আচৰণ

Eudynamys scolopaceus + Corvus splendens

কুলি চৰাই এবিধ উমনি পৰজীৱী (brood parasite)॥ ইহঁতে প্ৰধানকৈ কাউৰীৰ বাহত এটাকৈ কণী পাৰি পোৱালি জগায়।[12] শ্ৰীলংকাত ১৮৮০ চনলৈকে কুলিয়ে ঢোৰাকাউৰীৰ বাহত কণী পৰাৰ কথা জনা যায়, কিন্তু পিছলৈ পাটিকাউৰীৰ বাহটো কণী পাৰিবলৈ লয়।[13] ভাৰতবৰ্ষত হোৱা এটা অধ্যয়নৰ পৰা পোৱা তথ্য অনুসৰি কুলিয়ে ৫% পাটিকাউৰী (Corvus splendens) আৰু ০.৫% ঢোৰাকাউৰী (Corvus macrorhynchos)ৰ বাহত কণী পাৰে[14] বাংলাদেশত ই একাদিক্ৰমে ৩৫.৭%, ৩১.২% আৰু ১০.৮% Long-tailed Shrike (Lanius schach), শালিকা (Common Myna, Acridotheres tristis) আৰু পাটিকাউৰী (House Crows,Corvus splendens)ৰ বাহত কণী পাৰে বুলি জনা গৈছে।[15] কম উচ্চতা আৰু ফল-মূলৰ গছৰ ওচৰত থকা চৰাইৰ বাহ কুলি চৰায়ে পছন্দ কৰে।[16] ইহঁতে সাধাৰণতে এটা বা দুটা কণী পাৰে কিন্তু কেতিয়াবা সাতৰ পৰা এঘাৰটালৈকে কণী পৰাৰো তথ্য পোৱা গৈছে।[17][18][19] মাইকী কুলিয়ে কণী পৰাৰ আগেয়ে পোষক(host)ৰ কণী আঁতৰাই লয়। ১২-১৪ দিনৰ ভিতৰত কণী ফুটে।[9] কুলি চৰাই সৰ্বভক্ষী। ইহঁতে বিভিন্নধৰণৰ পোক-পতংগ, বিছা, কণী, সৰু জীৱ তথা ফল-মূল খায় জীয়াই থাকে।[20]
