"Double Fantasy" adalah lagu oleh penyanyi Kanada the Weeknd menampilkan rapper Amerika Serikat Future. Yang dirilis pada 21 April 2023, melalui XO dan Republic Records, awalnya berfungsi sebagai single utama ke The Idol, Vol. 1, album soundtrack yang sekarang dibatalkan untuk serial televisi drama HBO, The Idol, yang ditayangkan perdana pada 4 Juni 2023. Lagu ini kemudian dimasukkan di The Idol Episode 2 (Music from the HBO Original Series), Album mini musik dari episode kedua serial.[5] Lagu ini ditulis oleh Future, the Weeknd, Metro Boomin, dan Mike Dean, serta diproduksi oleh ketiga orang terakhir. Lagu ini dinamakan setelah album studio John Lennon dan Yoko Ono tahun 1980 dengan nama yang sama.[6]

Perilisan dan promosi

Pada 10 April 2023, the Weeknd mempratinjau cuplikan "Double Fantasy" dengan versi cover yang tidak dirilis dari single John Lennon tahun 1971, "Jealous Guy", di Instagram Live.[7] Empat hari kemudian, ia tampil di penampilan produser Metro Boomin di Coachella 2023, yang dimana ia tampil bagian lagu, tetapi ia mengeluarkan judul lagu dua hari sebelumnya.[8] Pada 19 April 2023, ia membagikan sampul lagu dan mengumumkan jadwal perilisan.[9] Dua hari kemudian, pada hari yang sama bahwa lagu ini dirilis, ia tampil di penampilan kedua Metro Boomin di Coachella.

Video musik

Video musik resmi untuk lagu "Double Fantasy" dirilis dengan perilisan lagu pada 21 April 2023. Future tidak tampil di dalamnya, tetapi membagikan adegan yang tidak dirilis dari The Idol, dan dibintangi oleh Tesfaye dan lawan mainnya Lily-Rose Depp, yang mencari ketenaran dan kemudian menemukan yang pertama, sementara video ini bermuatan seksual dan sarat narkoba.[10]
