Jan Niecisław Ignacy Baudouin de Courtenay (13 Maret 1845 – 3 November 1929) adalah seorang linguis dan Slavis asal Polandia,[1] yang dikenal karena membuat teori foneme dan alternasi-alternasi fonetik. Sepanjang sebagian besar masa hidupnya, Baudouin de Courtenay bekerja di universitas-universitas Kekaisaran Rusia: Kazan (1874–1883), Dorpat (kini Tartu, Estonia) (1883–1893), Kraków (1893–1899) di Austria-Hungaria, dan St. Petersburg (1900–1918).[2] Pada 1919–1929, ia menjadi profesor di Universitas Warsawa.
