Biografi tidak resmi

Biografi tak terotorisasi adalah sebuah biografi yang ditulis tanpa ijin atau keterlibatan tokoh tersebut.^[1] Istilah tersebut biasanya terbatas pada biografi-biografi yang ditulis pada masa hidup tokoh tersebut atau tak lama usai kematian mereka. Sehingga, istilah tersebut tak ditujukan kepada biografi tokoh sejarah yang ditulis lama setelah kematian mereka.^[2]
