Joe Louis adalah seorang petinju kelas berat.[1] Ia telah memenangkan kejuaraan tinju kelas berat di dunia.[1] Joe Louis yang dikenal dengan Brown Bomber telah memecahkan rekor tinju dan mempertahankan 25 gelar kemenangan.[1]
Karier
Joe Louis berada pada level tinju profesional pada tahun 1934.[2] Saat itu, ia menunjukkan gaya dan keterampilan yang jarang dilihat dalam dunia tinju.[2] Ia menjadi pemenang dalam 27 pertarungan pertamanya.[2] Dari semua pertarungan tersebut, empat diantaranya menang KO (knockouts).[2] Di awal kariernya, ia mengalahkan beberapa petinju kelas berat seperti Stanley Poreda, Natie Brown dan Rosco Toles.[2] Sepuluh tahun setelah kedatangannya di Detroit (1935), Joe Louis memenangkan Golden Gloves dalam level kelas berat ringan. Setelah kemenangan itu, ia memenangkan dua belas pertarungan dalam tahun pertama.[2] Lalu, pada 25 Juni 1935 ia bertarung dengan mantan juara kelas berat Primo Carnera dan memenangkan pertarungan tersebut dalam ronde keenam.[2][3] Selanjutnya, ia mengalahkan Max Bear dalam ronde keempat.[2]
