The objective of this research is to find  out whether there is improvement of students’ micro skills of listening achievement after being taught through drills technique. This research was quantitative research using one group pretest-posttest design. The researcher used one class as the experimental group and it was selected by using simple probability sampling. The population of this research was the second year students of SMP Negeri 3 Bandar Lampung that consists of seven classes. The result of the research showed that there is a significant difference of students’ achievement in micro skills of listening. The mean score of pre-test was 47.52 and post-test was 57.55. By comparing between the mean of pre-test and post-test, it can be found that the increase of the mean was 10.03. It proved that the students’ scores increase significantly because the value of t-ratio is higher than t-table (9.229>2.042). It can be concluded that there is a significant difference of students’ achievement in micro skills of listening before and after being taught through drills technique.Keywords: drills, increase, listening, micro skills.
