We made it! The first edition of Wikipedia Asian Month has successfully ended! While your efforts are still needed since the wrap up stage is another big challenge for us. I understand everyone is busy in December, I will trying to cover everything we need in this message, hopefully can make this easier. Guideline
Check all submitted articles before 15th December, 2015.
When you do so, please make a category that includes all articles of WAM. My approach is using the {{WAM talk 2015}} on the talk page of all articles, and generate a category for talk page.
If you already submitted result on this page, please take a look that I add another column for articles selected for DYK. It could take a while for DYK process, you can fill that column later.
You don't need to provide bytes column since I'm looking for a easy way to not brother us too much.
When you checking articles, if you ever find an article submitted about Bashkortostan, Russia, please list them out. Bashkortostan community would like to send a postcard to whoever create that article.
List all qualified organizers, up to five on each Wikipedia. Qualified organizers are ones who work actively; those who only have their name on the page or just made a few constructive edits for the event (less than, say, 5-10 edits) will not be counted. Due 20th December, 2015. Use this page to submit organizers.
As you submit the qualified participants on this page, please also use P, O and A to mark them so I can know how many postcards should they receive. P(Participant), O(Organizers), A(Ambassadors). Please review the page if you submitted already. This is due 25th December, 2015 as previously mentioned.
We will make a barnstar for whoever contribute to Wikipedia Asian Month, a user box for whoever accomplish the mission, and a ribbon bar for Ambassadors. It will be distribute after we have all qualified editors.
You can find me on Facebook as Addis Wang, easiest way to talk with me for any questions or need my assistance. Leaving a message on meta is another option.
Further Actions
You are welcome to submit an blog post draft for Wikimedia Blog at here about Wikipedia Asian Month in your local community, a specific story is more welcomed. I will help on that, and maybe integrate stories from different communities together to make a enough length articles. So don't hesitate to submit a short paragraph.
A specific story about WAM. Like how some volunteers contribute in the event makes them special.
A one sentence statement from you or participants about how you feel about Wikipedia Asian Month; why you like the event; what do you think we need to improve next year
A short introduction about your community if it has not been introduced yet on Wikimedia Blog. Goals, current problems, why your community special etc.
Sorry for the rough pages on meta. I will make a more beautiful page for all organizers and Ambassadors to honor their great contribution for Wikipedia.
Next year: Many communities show their interest to hold this event again next year. We want to plan it in advance. If you represent a Wikimedia affiliate in Asia, please considering to include around 100 U.S. dollars in your annual grant application or similar. So Wikipedians around world can have a taste on your country or region next year! A mail list will be set up and inform you in next update. We will definitely make this event easier to participant next year, and improve our tool to give a better experience for both organizers and participants.
We are now at the final stage of the Wikipedia Asian Month, which means, we are collecting the address and ready to send postcards. There are basically three things left.
The survey of address collecting is ready, please consider to translate the survey at this page if you are not sure all qualified participants have capability to finish this English survey.
After you translate it, or not, please distribute the survey link with, or without, the page of tranlsation to qualifeid particpants on your Wikipedia. Please make sure the list are also in this page so we can know who is the qualified participants who are organizers. Please update this page once you finish the distribution.
We have a barnstar for whoever submit one article in the event. Please consider to distribute this on your Wikipedia if it haven't done yet. And please update this page as well.
Sorry for all the delays and thank you for being part of it. Please subscribe the mail list for future collaboration in Asia, and for Wikipedia Asian Month in 2016.
Since August, you have the opportunity to help us to find all possible bugs concerning Japanese language. Some important bugs have been reported on the dedicated page or directly on Phabricator.
Now is the last call for testing (especially this bug, that we can't reproduce). We plan to deploy the visual editor to all users on Japanese Wikipedia soon!
I'm still at your service if you have any questions or remarks. Thank you!
Please help us improve our judging tool of the Wikipedia Asian Month, and make it better to use in 2016 Edition. It may take around 5 minutes to Fill The Survey, and you will get an additional postcard if you submit your mailing address already. BTW, if you receive question regarding the postcard questions, here is a small updating page for your reference.
Hope you receive your postcard successfully! Now it's a great time to sign up at the 2016 WAM, which will still take place in November. Here are some updates and improvements we will make for upcoming WAM. If you have any suggestions or thoughts, feel free to discuss on the meta talk page.
We will launch a pre-event, which is new-user exclusive training event, that will help new users get involved in the Wikipedia community and contribute more in the Asian Month.
We want to host many onsite Edit-a-thons all over the world this year. If you would like to host one in your city, please take a look and sign up at this page.
We will largely improve the tool, that participants can directly report their contribution on the tool, and will be easier for judges to use.
We will try to send Ambassador certificate physically this year, as well as awarding second and third participants with a WAM button.
We will pre-made all postcards and souvenirs, so we can send them all immediately after the event.
If you no longer want to receive the WAM organizer message, you can remove your username at this page.
As always, reach me at meta talk page if you have any questions.
Best Wishes,
Addis Wang

Step 2, translate the banner at here, make sure tranlsate the link to the event page of your home wiki.
Step 3, when you finish the two steps, update this page. When both "Main Page" and "CN"(tranlsation) marked as done, I will enbale the CN in your language all the way to the end of November.

Here are some recent updates for you, and as always, let me know if you have any idea, thought or question.
IMPORTANT: Asian Language Wikipedia will exclude the language speaking country from the Asian Month so we can encourage editors write something about other part of Asia. E.g., Chinese Wikipedia will exclude Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Indian language Wikipedia will exclude India. If you have problems with that, please let me know.
I've posted the tool instruction and newest postcard rules on each Wiki' event page. Make sure you translate it. In short: 4 articles get one card, 15 get another one (Special one), and the Ambassador gets another one.
We will still allow two Ambassadors if top and second contributors have more than 30 accepted articles, just like last year. Please send this information to high-quantity participant to encourage them.
Please create this talk page template and linked in Wikidata. Judging tool will add this template to submitted articles automatically.

I'm doing some basic statistics at Result page every week, in case you are interested.

Only Wikipedia Asian Month on Wikipedia projects will count (no WikiQuote, etc.)
The global top 3 article count will only be eligible on Wikipedias where the WAM article requirement is at least 3,000 Bytes and 300 words.
Please make sure enforce the rules, such as proper references, notability, and length.
International organizers will double check the top 3 users' accepted articles, so if your articles are not fulfilling the rules, you might be disqualified. We don't want it happened so please don't let us make such a decision.

Hi, Tokot,
Thank you for your warm welcome at Wikimedia. By the way, I thought you could tell me if and where I could find a ja/en glossary for wikimedia? I wish I would not scatter mutiple ja/en term pairs. Appreciate your advice, --Omotecho(会話) 2017年3月15日 (水) 17:32 (UTC) :)[返信]

Wiki Loves Love (WLL) is an International photography competition of Wikimedia Commons to subject love testimonials happening in the month of February 2019.
The primary goal of the competition is to document love testimonials through human cultural diversity such as monuments, ceremonies, snapshot of tender gesture, and miscellaneous objects used as symbol of love; to illustrate articles in the worldwide free encyclopedia Wikipedia, and other Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) projects. Good news: the (lengthy!) script draft 1 is complete!
Hello, I am happy to share that script draft 1 is complete and ready for public comment.
The script (link to the Google doc) is much longer than I anticipated, at almost 21 pages!
Although I think that the 21 page script would be a very good introduction to referencing policies and workflows, I am considering dividing it into two or more smaller scripts that would be produced as separate videos. For example, one script could focus on policies and a different script could focus on how to use the citation tool. I am considering this for three reasons:
People may be more willing to watch shorter videos that have more specific focus.
Shorter videos may be easier to search for an answer for a single specific question.
There is a possibility that if I attempt to produce a single video from almost 21 pages of script that I might exceed the budget for this mini-project. I would like for both WMF and the community to be satisfied with the results from this mini-project, and I think that dividing the script into smaller scripts which could be produced separately would be a good way to ensure that the budget for the current grant is not exceeded. While there is a reasonable possibility that I could finish production of the entire 21 pages of script within the current grant, I think that dividing the script would be prudent. After one of the smaller scripts is fully produced within the currently available funding, remaining script could be considered for production within the current grant if there seems to be adequate remaining funds, or could be saved for possible production with a future grant.
Request for constructive criticism and comments
I would very much appreciate constructive criticism and comments regarding the script, preferably by March 10 at 11:59 PM UTC. This is a shorter time window than I would like to provide, but the planned end date for this project is March 14 and I would like to finish video production by the end of March 13 so that I have 24 hours for communications before the grant period ends. If you would like to review the script or make other comments but the end of March 10 is too soon for you, please let me know that you need more time, and I will take that into consideration as I plan for final production and consider whether to request a date extension from WMF. (Extending the finish date for the project would not involve requesting additional funding for the current grant.) I would prefer that the video be done perfectly a few days late than that the video be done on March 14 but have an important error that was not caught during a rush to the finish.
I have three specific requests for feedback:
1. Please find errors in the script. This is a great time to find problems with my work, before the script goes into production and problems become more expensive to fix. Please go to this link in Google Docs and use the Comment feature in the Google Doc.
2. Do you have comments regarding whether the script should be divided, and if so, how it should be divided? Please let me know on the project talk page.
3. How do you feel about the name for the video? Do you prefer "Referencing with VisualEditor" or "Citing sources with VisualEditor", or a third option? Again, please comment on the project talk page. However, if I divide the script then I will create new names for the smaller videos.
Closing comments
Thank you for your interest in this mini-project. I am grateful to be working on a project which I hope will help Wikipedia contributors to be more efficient and effective, and indirectly help to improve Wikipedia's quality by teaching contributors how to identify and to cite reliable sources. I believe that the finished video will be good, and I hope that the community and novice contributors will find the video to be very useful.

Video tutorial "Referencing with VisualEditor" – newsletter issue 2 short version
Video tutorial "Referencing with VisualEditor" – newsletter issue 2
The most important information to know is that draft 2 is finished, that the single long script has been divided into many smaller scripts, and that portions of the script have been prioritized for production.
Due to budget constraints, not all scripts can be produced within the scope of the current pilot grant, but the other scripts will remain available for potential future production. (This project feels somewhat like doing a vehicle repair when the mechanic starts to work on the engine, and once the mechanic gets under the engine and starts to work, they discover that accomplishing their objective requires twice as much time as they first had estimated.) However, nothing is lost, so do not fear. Overall, my assessment (me being User:Pine) is that this project is producing a lot of good output and is generally a valuable pilot project.

Could you please send me a list (top-10 or more) of your favourite Japanese dishes and drinks with links to English Wikipedia? I will insert this list into Asian Food Week. Asian Food Week will be this autumn and our wiki community will use your suggestions to create new articles in Ukrainian wikipedia. I would like to post a request for ESEAP involvement on Japanese Wikipedia talk pages, but I need a contact for Wikipedians who are not comfortable communicating in English. Would you be interested in taking inquiries in Japanese about ESEAP and having your username posted in requests? (I have a similar English-only message here: en:Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Japan#ESEAP_(East_and_Southeast_Asia_and_the_Pacific)_Wikimedia_Group_looking_for_partners_in_Japan - I wish to post something similar on JAwiki but include your username too)
