The Physician’s Pledge
いち医療専門職として、
AS A MEMBER OF THE MEDICAL PROFESSION:
I SOLEMNLY PLEDGE to dedicate my life to the service of humanity;
THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF MY PATIENT will be my first consideration;
I WILL RESPECT the autonomy and dignity of my patient;
I WILL MAINTAIN the utmost respect for human life;
- 年齢、疾患または障碍、信条、民族、ジェンダー、国籍、政治的志向、人種、性的志向、社会的地位あるいはその他いかなる要因も、己の責務と患者との間に介入させない
I WILL NOT PERMIT considerations of age, disease or disability, creed, ethnic origin, gender, nationality, political affiliation, race, sexual orientation, social standing or any other factor to intervene between my duty and my patient;
- 信頼の上で知り得た患者の秘密は、患者の死後においても尊重する
I WILL RESPECT the secrets that are confided in me, even after the patient has died;
- 良き医学慣行に従い、良心と尊厳をもって専門職を実践する
I WILL PRACTISE my profession with conscience and dignity and in accordance with good medical practice;
I WILL FOSTER the honour and noble traditions of the medical profession;
- 教師、同僚ならびに生徒たちに、しかるべき尊敬と感謝の念を捧げる
I WILL GIVE to my teachers, colleagues, and students the respect and gratitude that is their due;
- 患者の利益と医療の進歩のため、医学的知識を分かち合う
I WILL SHARE my medical knowledge for the benefit of the patient and the advancement of healthcare;
- 最高水準のケアを提供するため、自身の健康、ウェルビーイング、およびその能力に注意を払うものとする
I WILL ATTEND TO my own health, well-being, and abilities in order to provide care of the highest standard;
- たとえ脅迫の下であろうとも、人権と自由権を侵害するために私の医学的知識を用いない
I WILL NOT USE my medical knowledge to violate human rights and civil liberties, even under threat;
- ここに自由意思のもと名誉にかけて、厳粛に以上のことを誓約する。
