PlentyHi, while working on NPP I've come across Herb Plenty, an RAAF officer. The article seems to have been created by an editor with a COI, and is lacking many citations. I wondered whether you might be able to pass any judgement on it? Thanks, Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 20:48, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

Question on ship classesHi Zawed, thank you for your help in the Manekshaw awards inclusion dispute. I want to take INS Shakti (A57) to FA class, and have a question on a potential issue. Is it necessary to include the ship class for every ship mentioned? I've done so sparingly and not for every instance. When I looked through the current FA class naval ships, most of them are WW1/2 or Cold War era ships which saw combat, so they don't have a lot of other ships named. What do you think? Paora and I spent some time turning a sad-looking stub into something more decent. It's got an empty section on his military campaign, though. I thought you might be tempted tackling that. The Evening Post obituary can give you a taste of what he was like as an officer. Schwede66 03:42, 27 April 2024 (UTC)

Douglas A-4 Skyhawk in New Zealand serviceGreat work with this article! I toyed with writing an article on this topic after the A-4G Skyhawk article but it was too hard finding sources here in Australia. I'm glad I didn't try as this is much better than what I would have produced. I have a copy of Skyhawks: The History of the RNZAF Skyhawk if it would be helpful, though you've made very good use of this source. Nick-D (talk) 10:18, 15 September 2024 (UTC)

I have copied the article to a sandbox page and have begun editing it there. I will split the background section into background and prelude as you suggest. In the new draft I have already moved nine substantive footnotes to a footnotes section separate from the citations section. That is how I would do it today and I think most editors would also do that, at least if they had added more than one or two brief text footnotes. I will edit the lead. I am reviewing my current sources to see if I can add anything to the battle description. It was in fact a brief skirmish that would not even merit mention, except maybe briefly as part of a campaign, if it had not been one of the earliest engagements of the war and only five miles from Washington, DC. It got outsized notice, especially at the time, because of those two details. Thanks.
