The CSU DisputeThere is some sort of movement of San Jose State University students to designate the San Jose campus of the California State University as the "flagship" campus. See the discussion at the California State University article and talk page. There is no official support for such efforts, despite the comments on that article. Such an effort mocks the University of California designation of UC Berkeley as the flagship campus of the UC system. As is well know, UC Berkeley was in fact the original campus, and all of the other campuses of the UC system were creates as branches of that first campus (or were converted into branch campuses from predecessor schools). Those campuses operated as branch of the main campus until becoming a seperate campus. In the California State University system, the opposite happened (other than the Chico and Pomona campuses and the recent creation of campuses in Ventura and San Marcos), and generally a series of seperate, independant normal colleges were collected together to create the CSU system. Although the San Jose campus is the oldest public college or university in California, even older than UC Berkeley, the selection of the San Jose campus as a flagship ignores other critical facts for selecting a flagship campus, such research activities, student populations, donations, etc. The effort to select San Jose as the flagship campus is misguided and presently (2006) lacks any official support. SDSUI want to thank you for your hard work on the SDSU page, you have added a lot of signficant contributions. Have you been to SDSU recently to take the trolley picture? I am currently starting my second year there and I will likely be taking multiple pictures of the dorms, signficant buildings, and other structures on campus to soon add to the article. If you can think of any other notable sites that should have pictures, let me know, and I'll do my best to get them. Anyway, keep up the good work. --Nehrams2020 21:19, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

However, I will be getting a new camera sometime within this month. I guess if you're coming down for the game you can take the pictures then, or wait until I get my new camera. I'm sure you'd probably prefer to take them and get the angle you think would be best. They did finish the Student Health Services building and it actually looks pretty good. Construction of the new swimming pool complex is also currently under construction and will finish this spring. I'll be sure to get a picture of that once it is completed.--Nehrams2020 08:29, 17 November 2006 (UTC) Please vote 67.70.71.160 10:23, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Image:SDSU-library-image.jpgThanks for uploading Image:SDSU-library-image.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself. If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 17:13, 21 December 2006 (UTC) Image copyright problem with Image:SDSU-library-image.jpgThanks for uploading Image:SDSU-library-image.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy). The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged. As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:26, 10 July 2007 (UTC). Fair use rationale for Image:SBCS-org.gif
Hi. I'm the designer of the current iteration of the CSU-type templates. I noticed that you seem to be the main contributor to {{San Diego State University}}, and that you added another subheading today. As a quick note, whenever you add a new subheading to this type of template, in order to not break it, you need to increase the left-hand title block's rowspan by 1, like so. Happy editing, and thanks for putting so much work into this template. It's the fullest and most impressive representative of its class. --Dynaflow babble 02:51, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Wikimedia Commons imagesI uploaded multiple images that I took last year and never got around to uploading here. You can see them here. If you think any should be added to the SDSU page, take your pick. I hope to eventually have images of all the dorms, more of the educational buildings, and maybe get some interior shots. I may have to wait until spring for some images so the foilage looks better around some of the buildings. --Nehrams2020 03:23, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Feel free to take a look at it and copyedit/take out/expand. I'm hoping to get it to GA status at some point, and it is already well-sourced and covers a large portion of the history. We noticed though that when you edited Eric Gurry, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page JD. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Eddie Shin, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Agent Carter (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
