Orphaned non-free image File:Buddy Nielsen.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Buddy Nielsen.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Non-free rationale for File:Ahren Stringer.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Ahren Stringer.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 06:46, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Kyle Pavone has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unsourced non-notable musician

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Request reason:

All right! You got me! I admit I made other usernames to stay under the radar. I get it, yet I didn't understand at the time the editing I have done was considered disruptive! I still feel that reverting some of my edits just because I was blocked was completely unnecessary especially when the information I provided was completely accurate, sock or no sock. I also felt at the time some of the admins were either abusing their positions or the fact that I was being trolled by other users to no avail.

Decline reason:

This demonstrates you aren't yet willing to take responsibility for your own bad actions. Blaming others for your bad actions is all but a guarantee you won't be unblocked. In any case, given your history of abuse and sockpuppetry, there's no real chance you'll be unblocked until you go at least six months with zero edits. At that point, WP:SO is available to you. You will need to demonstrate a very different approach in that unblock request. Yamla (talk) 15:56, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, you made your point. Yeah, I didn't know exactly what constitutes as notable on certain Wikipedia pages and to some degree still don't, so maybe the administrators can show me and give me a little insight on what would qualify as notable and what would be considered a valid source these days. I admit I was playing with fire with the administrators and other editors despite the warnings and pushing some unwanted buttons so I do apologize for that. As for the sockpuppets Aadvark Slayer, Reckless Steve, and testoffate 86, yes, that was me, there I said it. Sthacker21 (talk) 00:58, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have already took that 6 month offers without block evasions or any other nonsense, as I was told by Yamla, which I have adhered to and I have already addressed the elephant in the room, i.e., the sockpuppetry and screwing around, or long term abuse, on this website. As for what PhilKnight said, yes, I would like to contribute with pages like the 2024 deaths in the United States as well as the Births in the United States from certain years and other nations as well. I would also like to make some spelling corrections and improvements for other certain pages, whether it's movies, shows, or people. I would also like to restore some pages I created that were deleted due to the G5 rule. Those pages are Rising Insane, Our Mirage, Venues, AVIANA, Engst, Kevin Ratajczak, Nico Sallach, and there are other pages I can't think of off the top of my head, and I should also point out that the pages that were removed due to G5, I didn't actually create those pages, I just did a copy/paste from the German language Wikipedia, used Google Translate, and made an English language version for those said pages. I even had to reword those pages to make sense for English readers. I don't know if that is against Wikipedia rules, but if it is, let me know. Sthacker21 (talk)

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action, or you have not responded to questions raised during that time. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you

    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and

No CU evidence of recent block evasion. This is due at least in part to a checkuser-block placed by another admin, preventing any possible evasion. I won't be reviewing this unblock request, but I'd expect to see some evidence this user knows how to properly cite material and I see no evidence of that. I'm also not convinced this user understands how to properly attribute content when copying and translating from the German language Wikipedia. --Yamla (talk) 11:33, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yamla, then explain to me how to "properly" attribute. Do I need to put some sort of stamp on that said page indicating it was interpreted from a foreign language page? With all due respect, like I said, I had them properly attributed and cited, even before they were erased for G5. But you can look at pages like Dave Grunewald, Future Palace, From Fall to Spring, and Vitja, which I'm surprised are still standing despite the G5 rule and you'll see the attributions and citing. Since I had to use Google Translate, I had to set them in the format for the English page. Sthacker21 (talk)

Request reason:

Alright, fine! You made your damn point! I won't use sockpuppets or jack around and edit regardless of notability on this site anymore. And fine, I'll use that WP:HOWTRANS page as asilvering prescribed to translate foreign language pages. The whole reason I ever used Google Translate in the first place was because not only I was familiar with it, but also I didn't bother looking at any guidelines from this site over the past. I would also like to restore the pages Rising Insane, Our Mirage, Venues, AVIANA, Engst, Kevin Ratajczak, and Nico Sallach and since those now deleted pages were translated from German pages, I would like for someone fluent in both English and German as the for those pages otherwise I could do those pages all over again using the proper translation pages. Sthacker21

Decline reason:

I'm sorry, while I can empathize with your frustration, your request to restore deleted pages that, per your own admission earlier, [you] just did a copy/paste from the German language Wikipedia, used Google Translate, and made an English language version for those said pages shows that you still don't understand the importance of both attribution and referencing. signed, Rosguill talk 19:20, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We don't block people to punish them, we block them to prevent disruption to the encyclopedia. Now that you're blocked, what we want to see is not that you've "served your time" and feel remorse (although some remorse is good), but that you're going to be someone who makes positive contributions to the encyclopedia. Right now it sounds like your plan is to do something very similar to what got you blocked in the first place. This unblock request doesn't address Rosguill's concerns about whether or not you understand attribution and referencing, and it also promises that you'll make further demands on other editors' time for no real reason. Please reconsider. -- asilvering (talk) 21:09, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
asilvering, I am not gonna use Google Translate for creating English pages if that is what you're implying. I'll use the WP:HOWTRANS format. Truth is I had no idea using Google Translate for creating English pages was against policy, because in truth, I never even read the policies back when I started. I just edited away. Sthacker21

You're all obviously concerned about whether or not I will be a repeat offender for Wikipedia. I've already came clean about the abusive acts and the 3 sockpuppets, as well as using Google Translate for making new articles, in which you'll told me was not allowed. Fine, I'll play by your rules. Just cut me some damn slack! I admit the long term abuse was from adding non-notable folks for births in 20th Century and I won't lie, I've been warned by Deb and even evaded her blocks by editing while not logged in but eventually someone caught on. I treated it as a game and got burned in the end. Yet I didn't get the same treatment when I added births per each country (US, UK, Germany, etc.), so I believe I get it when it comes to notability, which is why I won't be touching those particular pages that I've been getting jumped on for editing. Significa liberdade, I am not exactly fluent in any language except for English. While using sockpuppets, I created pages using Google Translate and copy/pasted from German-language pages to make English pages and found out during my quest for an unblock that it wasn't even allowed. Alot of those pages were deleted due to the G5 rule and surprisingly there are other pages I did that still stand to this day. Should I ever be unblocked, I would have to do it all over again from scratch using the WP:HOWTRANS format and find an administrator who is fluent in said language. @Significa liberdade: Looks weak to me, but what do you think? -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 19:23, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Can you explain what you mean by using the "WP:HOWTRANS format"? Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 19:41, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Significa liberdade, I was informed by asilvering that couldn't use Google Translate to interpret foreign languages pages into English and would have to use the Help:Translation or "HOWTRANS" section to properly translate for any pages to stand. I know it's a pain in the ass but if that is required on Wikipedia, so be it. One thing for certain is this, I'd have to add this "Content in this edit is translated from the existing (Add Language Here) Wikipedia article at (Two letters for Language):Exact name of (Add Language Here) article; see its history for attribution." as a requirement for said page. I would also have to use the CS1 Translator to carry on that work. Unfortunately I can't do that with this Black Cloud called a block hanging over me. (Sthacker) Edited 13:38, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Given that you're not fluent in any language except English, I would not recommend translating pages in the future -- even if you appropriately attribute the translations. As is stated at HOWTRANS, "Wikipedia consensus is that an unedited machine translation, left as a Wikipedia article, is worse than nothing." Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 13:49, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Significa liberdade, Then I would have to rebuild those pages that were translated in past up the hard way, which would take long as fuck because I'd have to scan the web for legit sources which I won't lie is time consuming and pray like hell I don't get my ass jumped on for purposes of notability, so I can forget about translating pages and focus on creating pages from scratch, that is if you remove this curse called a block. This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Sthacker21 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

It's very evident that you all made your decision that I'm not fit for translating pages from one language to English since I'm not exactly bilingual as Significa liberdade stated, which is why I went ahead and deleted the last unblock request since it gained no traction among admins, despite admitting that the 3 sockpuppets were mine (Aarkvark slayer, Reckless Steve, and testoffate86) and continuing to abuse my editing privileges while evading blocks from Deb, and yes, I apologize for my transgressions and disrespecting the guidelines as well as disregarding them. I can prove that I am an asset and I can make good faith decisions given the opportunity. Here's what I'd like to do should you agree to lift the block, I would like to rebuild, NOT RESTORE, but rebuild the following pages that were removed due to the G5 rule from scratch: Rising Insane, Our Mirage, Venues, AVIANA, Engst, Kevin Ratajczak, Nico Sallach, and Marcus Bischoff and I would like to create pages for the following bands: We Were Sharks, If I Were You, Blacktoothed, Kingdom of Giants, Boys of Fall, Ocean Sleeper, Our Promise, & Until I Wake. I won't lie, I will admit that it is quite the laundry list, so maybe some help from other users could play a role in building these pages. I would also request to be permitted to continue adding notable people to births of certain years at least for the United States and the deaths for those who passed in the United States, not on the international platform like the ones I was chastised over, but in the States particularly. I was already informed not to create pages for band members with lack of notability (Kyle Pavone, Ahren Stringer, Joel Birch, Chris Motionless) which if unblocked I will not be doing as some of them were already voted against, and should someone else create those pages, it won't be on me. If unblocked, I won't be translating pages for Wikipedia because for all I know, I could easily put in the wrong text, especially if I don't speak the said language. This is my request. Sthacker21 Edited 21:01, 24 December (UTC)

Accept reason:

There's been quite a bit of discussion here, and I feel that at least some progress has deen made. You are strongly advised not to return to the types of edits that have gotten you blocked in the past, and to strictly limit yourself to one account. Any return to previous problematic behaviors will almost certainly result in another block, and you will little to no chance of succesfully appealing at that point. I would however, note for the record that I explicitly reject the logged reason for the block. Long term aduse is a label we usually reserve for users that are acting entirely in bad faith over a prolonged period, I don't think that applies here. Welcome back.
