ArbCom 2019 election voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:24, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Consider this a warning, Stop vandalizing the Algeria National football team page

Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Guardianofsunshine (talkcontribs) 12:59, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently making disruptive edits.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  EvergreenFir (talk) 04:59, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Malcolmxl5: pinging because you've engaged with this editor before. I see no communication at all. Wondering if you agree with the block (and the acceptance of an unblock if communication begins). EvergreenFir (talk) 05:00, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi EvergreenFir. Yes, I tried to reach out to Sparda2k1 but got no reply. Sparda2k1 really does need to discuss their edits and I agree with what you have done here. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 11:15, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello, i would like to appeal for an unblock if possible, i have been editing this page for a while now, a lot of the current content on that page is my work, i do admit to being in a edit war with some users, i did not know that communication was mandatory among editors in these situations, i never really looked into it but being blocked has allowed me to do a bit more research on what to do in these situations, i also noticed that user Malcolm did actually try to reach out to me, i do take responsibly for not paying attention to my messages and not communicating, i am willing to start communicating better. Thank you

Accept reason:

I have unblocked you. Wikipedia is a collaborative project; if you don't communicate with other editors, particularly when there are disagreements, things will go wrong. Instead of edit warring, discuss on the relevant talk page(s) and establish a consensus on what should be done. Huon (talk) 00:02, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have reinstated the block. Right in your first edit after having been unblocked you continued in the same vein as before. That won't do. Huon (talk) 22:20, 14 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Huon, Hello again, with all due respect i think you need to give me a break, i started editing this page way back in 2016 and the only reason why i started editing was because the page was completely abandoned, now all of a sudden the team in question has had a very successful year in 2019 now all of a sudden a bunch of people want to start adding stuff and the problem is, it comes with plenty of mistakes, this page does not belong to me therefore i have no problems with others contributing of course, i meant it when i said i will start communicating, i tried leaving a detailed message on my edits and i though i clearly did but after confirming the edits i couldn't see my own messages that i left and also i was having problems with my computer as it kept lagging so the edits that i left didn't even come out like i wanted it too, i tried to get rid of my own edit but like i said i was having issues with my computer so i just turned off my computer and didn't come back to try and edit again. like i said i never had to communicate prior to these last couple months because the page was abandoned but I've already been blocked once and as i said i am willing to communicate but just give me the chance to learn. Thank you

Decline reason:

But you didn't start communicating, you didn't leave a detailed message on your edit, you didn't visit the talk page or message any other users, you just started edit warring again despite Huon's message directly above. Declined. ST47 (talk) 18:38, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello again, i'd like to submit a request for an unblock, as i've mentioned before i only got into editing wikipedia only to help fix abandoned pages, then i had a editing war with other users in a page that was previously completely abandoned, i've been blocked twice now, i did attempt to leave messages and what not after my first block, but for some reason my messages were not getting through maybe i wasn't doing it properly i dont know, either way what i am willing to do to avoid issues is only editing if nobody else is, its the simplest way to avoid edit wars.

Decline reason:

I have verified your claim is false. You made no attempt to communicate after your previous block, despite that being a condition of your unblock. Instead, you simply continued your edit war, after agreeing not to. Your attempt to mislead us here will count significantly against any possibility of an unblock.
