You article is easy to read and I really like it. Here are some of my comments:

1. "The common abbreviation for this enzyme is MerA." You can just add "(MerA)" after the full name at the beginning of the paragraph.

2. For the mechanism, it would be nice if you could draw a simple diagram of the reaction including FAD and NADPH.

3. It would be easier to visualize the structure of the protein if you could also draw a simple picture of the protein indicating the key components such as domains, the active site and some key residues.

4. I notice that in the last 3-4 sections, you did not use internal links to Wikipedia itself at all. I would suggest add some for some technical terms, such as metalloproteins, thiolates, promoter, gram negative bacteria, etc.

Greetings Sohn.philip. Great article overall. I have a few comments

positives

  • many subsections providing insight into multiple facets of Mercury (II) reductase
  • good use of formatting (Table of contents, headings, bolding, etc)
  • good use of balanced chemical reaction in the intro section
  • Great that you said what the enzyme does!
  • It is great that you included structural studies, also great that you included specific details. Make sure you hit everything that is relevant (i.e. the metal center, active site, protein domains, primary, secondary structure etc)

points for improvement

  • Could have added photos for applications and uses. This would make your article cooler and more interesting.
  • Totally not necessary, but for the mechanism, if you have time to kill, you could draw it out in a big figure. Again, totally not necessary.
  • Not necessary, but could put in ~1 sentence about the enzyme's discovery (i.e. "was discovered in 19XX")
  • Some articles have a separate "Function" heading. Not necessary, but possibly useful to organize your article when you start adding more information.
  • I totally know that you will think to do this in the future, but your article would benefit from an image of your enzyme in the top right if one exists

Looking over your WP sandbox

Dear Sohn.philip: Your page on MerA is coming along nicely. A few little things that I noticed in a quick look. The notation of FADH- is confusing to me, since it is normally written as FADH2. It is not incorrect, just unusual. The structure/function section is a bit disjointed. Perhaps discuss function first and then structure. I did not understand what NmerA is. Is this another version of MerA? Or one of the domains of the protein? In the mercury transport section, are you saying that Hg(II) can be reduced by the enzyme while it is bound to other ligands? This is not clear. In the regulation section, it is not clear that MerR is a regulator (protein), and MerO is an operator (DNA sequence), not a second regulator.
