Welcome to my talkpage! I'd love to hear any suggestions, news, or anything you have to say to make you and I better Wikipedians. But before you type away, please read over the guidelines so that you can reach me in the most effective way. Thanx!

Please keep all conversations civil. It doesn't matter what you want to say, no burning, personal flaming, or any kind of name-calling and acting rude and uncivil won't get you point across any further. So please, for the good of the conversation and to keep our attitudes likable, act civil.

Suggestions for my personal improvment as a Wikipedian are always welcome, as it's the only way I'll learn.
Over the course of my Wiki-life, I'm going to introduce some riddles and games users can win barnstars for if they succeed. I figured it would be a good way to make Wiki-friends, so why not try it out?
This month's riddle...
What goes around the world and stays in a corner?
Riddles are updated everytime a discussion gets archived
Your current signature is missing a few closing tags and is breaking the syntax of some talk pages. Could you please go through and check for any missing tags, I'm pretty sure you're missing a tag at the end. Many thanks, Extranettalk03:12, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I checked them out and it seems like they're working. They aren't properly formatted though (and neither are the Green Day ones which I have been slowly fixing). However, there is a website that will format them for you, just need to add the <ref name=> part. It's at http://tools.wikimedia.de/~magnus/makeref.php and it is very useful for properly formatting citations. Hope that helps! OrfenUser Talk | Contribs01:16, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Scrumshus. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Anti-Flag.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Scrumshus/Random project. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk03:58, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Fair use rationale for Image:Working_Class_Hero.ogg
Thanks for uploading Image:Working_Class_Hero.ogg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan0008:19, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sig
Please fix your signature, I just fixed the WP:BDC talk page after that monstrosity, and remember that being flashy on Wikipedia (your sig, user and talk) is more of a sign of unprofessionalism then anything else. +Hexagon1(t)07:02, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Contrary to popular belief, the BDC are not omnipotent magical pixies, if your name isn't on the list, feel free to add it (how are we supposed to know it). Birthday is just what it sounds like. (Sorry if I sound mad, bad day, no offence intended) +Hexagon1(t)10:51, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Capital on Nimrod
Hi. I noticed that you are interested in Green Day, so I invite you to read my proposal to change nimrod. to Nimrod, at Talk:Green Day#Capital on Nimrod. I think there's no reason not to change it, but I have been waiting for responses due to the note at the top of the talk page about the capitalization. I appreciate any comments. Thanks. - Jon Stockton13:09, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wanna help me?
It has to do with Green Day. If you want to help, please leave me a message. Well, I'll just tell you what it's about. About three days ago, I entirely revamped the Dookie article, and got it to GA level the next day. I need your help to get it to FA sooner or later. So, want to help? I really don't know what to do to make it better, and I need some outside opinions. Xihix16:32, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Orphaned non-free image (Image:I Fought The Law.ogg)
Thanks for uploading Image:I Fought The Law.ogg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. "He didn't really talk until he got his girlfriend, and somehow that jump-started his ego, and he went from 'I am Lou, I am nothing' to 'I am the greatest.' He just went ffffft, just flipped the scales. And then he started talking a lot. And then I was realizing from a lot of the things he was saying, 'Hmmm, maybe I don't like Lou.'"- J Mascis

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Lookoutgd.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Lookoutgd.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
"I still have people come up to me like, 'I really, really liked your last record.' 'Oh, thanks!' 'Are you going to do "Loser" tonight?' I'm like, 'Look, I'm six foot six. Beck is five foot sex, all right?'"- Thurston Moore

This month was the first in over a year in which no articles were promoted to featured article status. In the period between March 2007 and April 2008, the project produced a whopping 70 Featured Articles. Let's keep adding to those numbers!

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Scri19.png, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Scri19.png is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Scri19.png, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD.
