Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Joseph McGinley, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. I'll reiterate: do not remove discussions from talk pages except through an approved archive process. Hello, I'm Frost. I noticed that you made a change to an article, 1933 All-Ireland Junior Football Championship, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Frost 16:56, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article 1933 All-Ireland Junior Final has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Repeatedly blanked by its author. Seemingly an attempt to apply WP:G7. No content. No value.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Guliolopez (talk) 20:49, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I wish to have the page deleted. There is already another page the all Ireland junior football championship 1933 which contains all the same information and more. The page we are discussing now is too short and adds nothing new. I knew no other way to delete the page than wiping it all out. My apologies if I went about this the wrong way. Thanks for the feedback. Could you explain to me why the subject is not notable? Would it be an improvement if I got newspaper coverage from the time of his athletic accomplishments? Are newspaper reports satisfactory?

Yes, newspaper reports is what is needed here, although scholarly sources would also work. If you can find some of either of those, that would allow the article to be published. Also, please remember to sign any comments you post on talk pages using four ~ symbols. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks, QuicoleJR (talk) 02:37, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your feedback. Could you give me an example of the kind of sources you are looking for?

Like I mentioned in the other section, newspaper articles or scholarly sources are needed to establish notabililty. If you can find a few good sources like that, the article can be published. QuicoleJR (talk) 02:39, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
