A road from Warrington to Wigan passes through it, and is there joined by another from Newton; there are also cross-roads between Ashton and Lowton." Golborne is a Village. This isn't an edit war this is trying to resolve an error in the page which people keep reverting back without finding or citing sources. I live in Golborne I know its a Village as it doesn't have any of the prerequisites to make it into a town, No Market, No TOWN hall and no Mayor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EditingpagesGolborne (talk • contribs) 22:36, 23 February 2015 (UTC) Why did you undo the busway comment i made in Andy and Tyldesley ? Traditional countiesThe County Palatine of Lancaster page is not meant to create a point of view fork, or be written from a particular point of view but to distinguish the difference between the ceremonial county and the county palatine of which there is a difference as was shown in many references used from primary sources on the page i.e British government, Duchy of Lancaster and Lancashire County Council. The Lancashire County page is very confusing in doing this because it talks about both and is written in some areas as if to state the county palatine no longer exists and in other parts it is still in existence. For example it explains the County Town of Lancashire is still considered Lancaster, but it fails to explain it is the county town of the county palatine, not just the ceremonial county. The page alone is directed singularly to the ceremonial county such as the info box. The County of Lancaster page is to be devoted to the historical county i.e boundary history and the county palatine today just as the 'Yorkshire' wiki page does, leaving the 'Lancashire' page to be devoted to the ceremonial county i.e transport, geography in the administrative boundaries and county council. Hopefully this would make it less confusing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gold Wiz113 (talk • contribs)
It is something that needs addressing, especially when it has been suggested several times in the past, it is an indication others also notice the page is not correct and that the Lancashire Ceremonial County and the Lancashire Historic County (which is really the County Palatine, however the current page also shows different) are two different entities. In the UK there is a difference between ceremonial counties and historic counties, both exist and both are different. As I previously mentioned the Lancashire page is confusing when informing between the two. Regards. Gold Wiz113 (talk) 18:10, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
breakI identify nobody, and what is unreliable about the source? When I first posted this I had somebody saying that the information had to be referenced and not just my own recollection, now I am including references and its still not good enough for some. This is an infringement of free speech. And I will continue to include this as often as possible. Have a nice day — Preceding unsigned comment added by Superbootneck (talk • contribs)

Thanks, and one more favorThanks for running AWB on the Alamo defenders list. If you have time, I would appreciate a similar run for ISBNs on Runaway Scrape, which is currently at FAC. Thanks, either way. — Maile (talk) 12:40, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
AWB and ISBNsI am now authorized to use AWB, so I can take care of things like ISBNs myself. But when I look at specific files, it gives me a message of "No changes". At this point, I am more concerned about ISBNs than anything else. If I tell you the steps I'm using, can you tell me what I'm doing incorrectly?
So, I click "Start" and every page that comes up has no changes. And, yet, I know specific ISBNs need to be fixed. What am I doing wrong? I got it as far as doing a clean up on Elvis Presley filmography, but that was only for brackets. I want it to fix ISBNs. — Maile (talk) 13:52, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
London Encyclopedia refsWhy are you going round all the articles in User:Ritchie333/Monopoly adding a superfluous dot to the London Encyclopedia Harvard references? As well as making the reference more difficult to type, I have started to get harv errors. I use this reference a lot as it is one of the most definitive source on London properties and has been critically praised, but I wanted a way to avoid having to type out the four credited authors on the third edition every time. In future, could you please use the talk page and gain consensus? Thankyou. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:38, 19 October 2015 (UTC)

Walker was named in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League's Team of the Decade for the decade spanning 1866/67-1875/76. I am currently working hard preparing an update to the Wikipedia article covering Partington. You have previously rejected my changes whilst giving me some pointers for better management of citations/references etc. Thanks for that; I'll do better next time. The article on Partington is terribly out of date and well worth a through update. Some of the information is around 12 years old and completely incorrect given recent developments/investments. You will no doubt see my changes dropping in over the coming days, please do contact me directly to suggest any further improvements; your help would be greatly appreciated. Why, when I am trying so hard to improve the content of the Partington Wiki page do you insist on repeatedly undoing my hard work (and it is hard work) with little more than a bland comment about breaking links etc? For the sake of my sanity why not try to help me rather than persistently knocking me back to the starting line? Specific question - how on earth did I break a link by updating a photo and nothing else? I'm trying very hard here MrS, please be more supportive and consider sharing a little of that vast Wiki knowledge. SmudgeBerry (talk) 15:53, 2 May 2016 (UTC)

You'll see three examples using ISBN 978-1413304541 and ISBN 978-1-4133-0454-1. The MediaWiki produces the same result for either format. Also, when the Book sources page pops up, you'll see "Spaces and dashes [sic] in the ISBN do not matter." In fact, you could do ISBN 9781413304541 or ISBN 978-1-4-1-3-3-0-4-541. They all give the same result. (I suspect AWB is responsible for the ISBN hyphen alert. Is this so?) Happy editing and Merry X-mas! – S. Rich (talk) 01:41, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
