Thanks Chzz, I asked the same question twice because I'm scared of losing the text.Lumenlitt (talk) 18:18, 25 October 2009 (UTC) Question for administrator{{adminhelp}} Type your question here. I have an article which I believe is ready to be moved on to the wikipedia. However I wonder: 1. Is it recommended to request edit help? 2. Where is the name of my article? My user page only has my name on it. The first text that appears is the name of the author who is the subject of the article. Is that de facto the name of the article? 3. As this is an important move, will you help me execute the move or must I do it alone? Thanks very much Thanks very much. --Lumenlitt (talk) 20:11, 25 October 2009 (UTC) Doing... - more here very soon... Chzz ► 20:30, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Question for administrator{{adminhelp}} Type your question here. Hi Chzz, This is great. I might have done something wrong because I saved and dont know if I saved your edits. Would it be too much to ask you to look at the article to see if everything that you did is still there? I will stay out of it. Many thanks Lumenlitt (talk) 20:49, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
Hi Chzz, Last first. The reference in the first footnote is to the book, not the website. I had trouble finding anything with only the book on it. This is not an autobiography. It is a biography of the author James Thackara . I will read bio but can you advise if I have made any egregious errors? I will continue editing tomorrow after I have read bio. However, my hope is that I have the article ready to go on to the wikipedia. Many thanks for your help! Lumenlitt (talk) 22:02, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
James Thackara was born in Los Angeles on Dec. 7, 1944[citation needed] to the Argentinean James Justin Thackara and Ellen Louise Schmid of Greenville, Texas.[citation needed] His mother’s Swiss father, Theodore Schmid, ran a cotton dealership on Shanghai’s Bund from 1921 to 1937[citation needed] and her formative years thus embraced the Warlord and Kuomintang eras, and China's Long March.[citation needed]
Hello Chzzz, Thank you for your thoroughness. I have some questions which I hope will address some of the issues your raise. Can I ask if I can cite conversations with the author's editor, his still living mother, and classmates of his at Harvard that I knew all of whom I know. Also, when inserting all details about references, do I put them into the text or in the list of references? Alternatively do I enter the details AND the link in the text. Can I cite the author's Harverd College Class of 1967 Twenty Fith Report which has a very thorough treatment of sections which are referred to here. I look forward to hearing from you. Many thanks Lumenlitt (talk) 09:55, 26 October 2009 (UTC) Hello Chzzz I have spent some time going over the documents you recommended and your notes. I believe I am getting the hang of the citations and am making adjustments to suit the tone required. I will come back to you with questions as they occur, but in the mean time, I have some work to do! Thanks again. Lumenlitt (talk) 00:16, 27 October 2009 (UTC) {{adminhelp}}Hello, please may I ask for some clarification on entering foreign references. Each time I try to enter them according to what I believe is the citation template format I return to preview to find that they have been returned to another format. Are they handled differently? I should add that most of the articles hvde been taken off the web and are avialable only in printed format. Thanks very muchLumenlitt (talk) 12:05, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Question for administrator{{adminhelp}} Hello excuse me for repeating this but I am not sure that it got through the system. Please may I ask for some clarification on entering foreign references. Each time I try to enter them according to what I believe is the citation template format, I return to preview to find that they have been returned to another format. Are they handled differently? I should add that most of the articles hvde been taken off the web and are avialable only in printed format. Thanks very much Lumenlitt (talk) 18:33, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Hello thanks for the help on foreign references. I notice that whislt my changes aer being made, the record of them has stopped being entered, even though I have been generally making a summary. Is this a matter for concnern? Many thanks Lumenlitt (talk) 21:53, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks I dont know what it was, the changes were there but I thought the record was missing. Of course when I checked again it was thre. So sorry for the inconvenience Lumenlitt (talk) 14:42, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
{{helpme}} Sorry to be a bother. When I now look at the preview, some of my refernces, whilst listed in the text are not listed in the list of references. This is a new development and I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that Avraham blocked me for being abusive (which I have queried). Many thanksLumenlitt (talk) 17:44, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
{{helpme}} Hello, thanks. I'ved changed all refs to be of Citation style. I believe this article is ready to be added to the wiki. Please, is it too much to ask that it be looked over before hand to chekc that it complies with wiki regulations. There are two issues still of concern. 1. References from 34 to the end are not listed in list of references even though they are in the text. 2. Avraham has apparently barred me for "abusive" usage of my id. I have queried him on this have no answer and the barring still occasionally appears when I log in. In sum, can you halp me with these last two matters and most importantly tell me if this is ready to go on wiki. Thanks very much Lumenlitt (talk) 11:17, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

When I entered the move menu, I read that it was assumed that the article had no subpages when in fact it is itself a subpage. Have I misunderstood? Should I simply move the article by renaming and not be concerend about the small text concerning subpages? Thanks for your help.Lumenlitt (talk) 22:40, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:James_Thackara.jpgThank you for uploading File:James_Thackara.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. I am not an expert on the OTRS/permissions process but what you aPproposing to do looks OK to me. One thing to note - OTRS is manned by volunteers so it may take them a few days to process your e-mail. – ukexpat (talk) 15:52, 13 November 200 9 (UTC) Thanks UKEXPAT, most expecially for your comment about not being an expert. Please excuse me if I send the same message to the media copyright center. I onlyh have till the 17th to do this and have to get it right. In factg I might do both send it in and get an answer from media centre. Lumenlitt (talk) 16:46, 13 November 2009 (UTC) unblock request

revision history requestHello, Today when I checked in, I discovered that my revision history, which up to now has recorded changes made until November 17, has been truncated and only includes changes up to October 25. This may be a function of net connection but if not, can you tell me why this happened and what effect it has on the text itelf? Many thanks LumenlittLumenlitt (talk) 11:07, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

I have been working on my article about James Thackara ever since I saw that its neutrality was queried and it was criticised for its grammar, copyediting and spelling. I believe I have corrected all such issues. Can you tell me if the comments will be reassessed and I hope removed Many thanks lulemlittLumenlitt (talk) 21:22, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

A compliment from you means a great deal! I have left a comment on the article's talk page. But I do not know how to remove the tags on James Thackara's article. Can you or someoneone help me with that? many thanks lulemlittLumenlitt (talk) 22:02, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
user name change{{helpme}} Hello, Quite a while back, I changed my user name from my own name to the user name I have now. It was indeed to avoid having messages directed my attention. Now however, I find that on google and yahoo searches, my name appears as an entry as user, along with the article I created. This may be the result of an algorithm but it is of most concern and excatly the opposite to what was intended. Please can you advise me? Thank you lumenlitt Lumenlitt (talk) 11:10, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
