Hi, I took that from his legislative, public website as maintained by the PA House of Representatives' Democratic Caucus - a fully taxpaid entity. I thought I could use it under the Freedom of Information Act. Does that make it OK to leave it as it is? Plus, I'm the one who manages that page on PAHouse.com, and now by request of Rep. Friel's office this page on Wikipedia.
If you look at the bottom of the website it says "© 2024 PA House of Reps. ... All Rights Reserved." which means the website is not in Public domain like websites from the federal government. You should also take a look at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest as it applies to you. Nobody (talk) 14:24, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Then who might actually ever take the time to do this? And, is there a way for someone like me to differentiate off-work time? I am paid and a COI, but without me or any other "family, friends, clients, employers, or your financial and other relationships" to update this page, I don't see who would do it. Is this an existential issue for Wikipedia? Does the article therefore just not materialize?
Hi. Sorry, I don't understand: who might take the time to do what? Declare a COI? But you have to--it's the name of the game here. The existence of this article you're talking about is not an existential issue, but COI editors declaring that they indeed have a COI, that is, yes. Also, please do not convey private information unless you are absolutely sure you want to do that, and don't edit without logging in. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 14:38, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, not disclose as a COI - to do it at all ...
Since most editors edit about whatever they want, it's pure chance if an editor is interested in the specific topic or person you want to see the article improved. Nobody (talk) 14:45, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That is some monk like dedication to the perseverance of knowledge and hard to believe. But I had not experienced this platform ever - thank you for your dedication and helpful input!
Wikipedia is a volunteer service is a good explanation. Nobody (talk) 15:03, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Plenty of us do it for free. Some of us even enjoy it! But PLEASE stop editing while logged out... User:1AmNobody24, when you used the reply function, you're adding the IP to the edit summary, and I have to oversight that as well. Drmies (talk) 16:32, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
