I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy). If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. This has been done under section I7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself. If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Speedy deletion nomination of Dot HackerA tag has been placed on Dot Hacker requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard. May 2010Thursday, May 13Re: Anthony KiedisWelcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions, including your edits to Anthony Kiedis. However, please be aware of Wikipedia's policy that biographical information about living persons must not be libelous. Your edits to the List of Red Hot Chili Peppers band members have been undone. Zander Schloss is considered an official member of the band, as cited by Anthony Kiedis' autobiography. It shouldn't matter if Schloss was in the band for four days or four years. He is still considered an official member due Kiedis' acknowledgment. There has already been a discussion regarding Schloss' membership, and it was confirmed that he was an official member of the band. Thank you. WereWolf (talk) 04:03, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Page 297, Chapter 11 in Anthony's book, here is what he says about Zander: "We met up with our friend Zander Schloss, who was going to take John's place. Zander was a talented guitar player who could read and write music, a quick study with a zandy, soulful, comic sensibility. We had seven days to teach him enough songs to rock out Austraalia. Zander met us in Sydney and we started two-day rehearsals. But after four days, it was clear to me and Flea that this wasn't happening. Zander was playing the songs but it didn't feel like the Red Hot Chili Peppers. At that point, we decided we'd rather cancel dates than present a half-assed version of ourselves." Also...Zander on his official Facebook page lists all the bands he was in...and doesn't mention the Chili Peppers http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100000476358182 Jason1978 (talk) 05:21, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
It's unfortunate that you don't accept facebook because that's Zander's actual page and it lists his full resume but whatever. Nowhere in Anthony's book does it say he was a member. He tried out for the band, things didn't work, he never joined the band. I will also again point out that in the past when info about Zander was put on his Wiki page, it was removed because he wasn't a member but on the Peppers page it says he was. Jason1978 (talk) 23:14, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Red Hot Chili PeppersWith respect to this request on my talk page, I'm not going to take any action against Z33k at this time, and both of you should take this response as a warning. You should bear in mind that being right doesn't prevent you from being guilty of edit-warring. In that sense, both of you are equally guilty. I need to see both of you stop flipping the date back and forth. Continuing to do so will result in a block. You need to get an actual consensus, even if it takes an RFC to get there. I will note that the underlying case isn't 100% clear to me. For singles, the earliest release date is routinely used, and I'm surprised to see that Jason1978 isn't just completely wrong (which is what I thought at first). There are numerous discographies that apparently use a "home release" rule. Since I've issued a warning, I can't take place in any further discussion of the topic.—Kww(talk) 00:27, 13 July 2011 (UTC) Could you please explain to me why you removed my edits and how this page meets WP:NMUSIC? "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie" on Mainstream Rock TracksDo Not change to Billboard Rock Songs position, as this is misleading. The chart position is for Mainstream Rock Tracks chart peak, not Rock songs peak. It has currently peaked at #5 on Mainstream Rock Tracks, although it has gone #1 on Rock Songs. Please do not change it back to #1. Thank you. --Crocodileman (talk) 01:33, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
The chart is still compiled, but it is only available through the magazine's website. The chart could be accessed free until June 2009, when it became subscriber-only. At that time, a new chart named Rock Songs was introduced that combined the data from Mainstream Rock with that from Alternative and Triple A. Jason1978 (talk) 05:53, 8 August 2011 (UTC) ChartsThe data from Rock Songs chart does not correspond with peak positions of previous songs on Mainstream Rock Tracks. They're two completely different charts. Just because Mainstream Rock Tracks aren't published on the site or the magazine does not mean it's not an actual chart. The positions on the singles chart should remain all Mianstream Rock Tracks because then all peak positions will be consistant. --Crocodileman (talk) 11:21, 8 August 2011 (UTC) Billboard changes their chart names all the time. Hot 100 Airplay is now called Radio Songs. Mainstream Rock Tracks data is now used in Rock Songs. Unless you subscribe and pay to be a member of Billboard.com you have no way of seeing the Mainstream Rock Tracks which is why Billboard created Rock Songs in 2009. Can you provide a link proving the song is at #5 on this chart because all links to this chart lead you directly to the Rock Songs chart. The previous link provided saying the song was #5 on this chart led directly to the same link I just posted in my previous response. --Jason1978 (talk) 11:23, 8 August 2011 (UTC) They are most definitely not the same charts. Rock Songs was not created to replace Mainstream Rock Tracks. It is a chart that takes in radio spins from Alternative, Active, Heritage rock, and Triple A and combines them into an overall chart. On the other hand, Mainstream Rock Tracks is a chart compiled by combining Active rock and Heritage rock only, which is the same formula Billboard has used ever since the chart debuted. Therefore, Mainstream Rock Tracks chart should be used on the singles chart instead of Rock Songs because they are two different charts compiled two different ways. If you like, you can make a new column for Rock Songs, as every other artists' singles chart on Wikipedia now uses (or should be using) Mainstream Rock Tracks. --Crocodileman (talk) 18:22, 8 August 2011 (UTC) Orphaned non-free image File:Rhcpmusicares.jpgThanks for uploading File:Rhcpmusicares.jpg. Skier Dude (talk) 03:13, 6 September 2011 (UTC) RHCPDude, seriously. I'm getting really sick and tired of you removing adding Zander Schloss from the List of Red Hot Chili Peppers band members. As I've told you NUMEROUS TIMES. Kiesis states in his autobiography that he DID JOIN THE BAND FOR A FEW DAYS, NOT AUDITION. This is your FINAL WARNING. This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. WereWolf (talk) 18:37, 27 October 2011 (UTC) I will not edit it again but it needs to be open for a debate because it's inaccurate info. Again....PLEASE go check out the band's official biography titled Red Hot Chili Peppers: An Oral/Visual History in 2010. Anthony's book is NOT A BAND BIO. The RHCP book is written in the band's own words with interviews from almost every single band member in their history and is the ONLY book released by the band and endorsed by them. Nowhere in the book does it mention Zander Schloss name at all. So tell me why would the band's official bio omit a band member completly and never mention him or interview him like they did with everyone else? Zander states in his bio he was trialed for four days, Anthony in his book clearly states he was going to take John's place however after four days of rehearsals it didn't work out. The end of his comment however is very misleading but he was never hired. Rehearsing to be a replacement on tour is not being hired. He rehearsed, it didn't work, end of story...Arik was hired shortly after to offically replace John. Here is Anthony's quote from his book: We would go on to Austrailia where we would meet up with Zander Schloss who WAS going to take John's place. Zander was a talented, zany, soulful, comic sensibility. We had seven days to teach him enough songs to rock out Australia. Zander met us in Sydney where we started intensive two-a-day rehearsals. But after four days, it was clear to me and Flea that this wasn't happening. Zander was playing the songs but it didn't feel like the Red Hot Chili Peppers. When we told Zander he was devestated. You'd thought he was with the band four years and not four days. Jason1978 (talk) 12:46, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

I do not need your permission to make any changes to any article, major or minor. I removed all information that had no notable connection with the tour. On Wikipedia, we do no assume information, only things that are sourced. I provided two sources setlists and listed the city of origin. Nowhere did I make an assumption they were the only two setlists performed. You provided an unsourced list of songs that cannot be proven if performed or not. Josh Klinhoffer has been touring with RHCP since 2006, so how is he magically joining them on their "current tour"? Given the fact the SAWT was their last tour and he was a part of it. More importantly, there are at least five sources that state the tour begins in September. Why are you including dates from July? This article (and the others) are about the concert tour, not a promo tour for the record. That is why they were removed. My information comes from research. I don't pull things from the sky. If you have information that contradicts mine or another editors, show some sort of proof, besides your knowledge as a "fan". Wikipedia is a not a fan site and we do just assume information on here. If you have an issue with that, you are more than welcomed to start your own wiki. Itsbydesign (talk) 05:54, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
Again, and I have said this more than once, I don't care who edits the article. I didn't create it, many have edited it however usually when it's edited there are reasons behind the edits other than I personally think it's fluff and doesn't belong. Some of the stuff in question, the so called fluff I never added. It was others who added and was accepted in the article up until your edits. I however created many of the band's other tour pages and as you can see none of them contained a massive load of your so-called fluff however you decided to rename some of them giving them made up names with no sources behind the name changes. With the promotional dates...here is what YOU placed into the article: Before the tour commenced, the band played several one-off shows and music festivals[5]; including the Summer Sonic Festival. If the promotinal tour has no connection to the article/tour why mention that? Why not post that in the album section? As for your defintions of promotional/concert tour...10 out of the 15 of the promotonal dates full shows in front of full capacity auidences. Their Asian leg of the tour was on the promo leg. Both are tours in support of the album, to promote and sell it. The warm-up/promo dates however differ because they aren't confined normall in arenas like alot of the tour is. They were in clubs, festivals, ballrooms etc. I'm not biased towards the band when it comes to editing. I keep everything accurate and backed up with proof like we are supposed to around here. What I posted in the tour section is about the tour, happened during the promotion of the album/tour. I do however know a little too much about this band but i'm not biased towards them. My fandom takes a backseat when editing or creating articles however it does tend to make it easier to notice made up edits/vandalism when you know alot about the subject of the article and the main article is vandalized alot. I have always worked with everyone fairly, rarely if ever having problems like this and if they are, they are quickly worked out. Look...this is obviously going nowhere and never will so I ask if we can come to a comprimise. You layed out your opinions and reasons for changes, I layed out mine. I think you added alot to the article and made it look more cleaned up. I will leave out the so-called "fluff" however would like to re-include the song listing (and again the link i'm providing is their official site) and warm-up dates (again since it was you that mention them as background for the tour it falls in line with the tour's history). Of course I don't need your permission to edit it just like you don't need mine but i'd rather try to work together than argue everyday. I referenced three links. The band's redhotchilipeppers.com, theside.com and setlist.com however you seemed to have overlooked or ignored the band's official site as a source. I didn't deliberatly add those sites like you said I did. You said I was not providing sources and I added not one but three different ones that included the info I was adding to the article. Jason1978 (talk) 05:02, 8 July 2012 (UTC) July 2012 – Questionable claims of sources used in "Songs performed" sectionsYesterday you added "Source:<ref>http://http://backstreets.com/setlists.html</ref><ref>www.brucespringsteen.net</ref>" as the source for your "Songs performed" sections in four Bruce Springsteen tour articles: Wrecking Ball Tour, Working on a Dream Tour, Bruce Springsteen with The Seeger Sessions Band Tour, and Ghost of Tom Joad Tour. I find this hard to believe, because www.brucespringsteen.net has no set lists before 2009, meaning it has nothing on the Sessions Band Tour or the Tom Joad Tour, and because backstreets.com has no set lists before 1999, meaning it has nothing on the Tom Joad Tour. In fact I don't think you used either of these sites for when you originally added these sections in the Wrecking Ball or Working on a Dream Tours either, because doing so would require a lot of work. I believe you just pulled results off of http://www.setlist.fm, or a similar site, where they are already aggregated and listed. Just as you did for Born in the U.S.A. Tour and Tunnel of Love Express Tour and Magic Tour (Bruce Springsteen), where you added these sections without any source at all. But http://www.setlist.fm is a fan-maintained wiki, and not suitable as a WP:RS. In fact I suspect those most of the "Songs performed" sections you've been adding to tour articles all over Wikipedia are not adequately sourced, in addition to being of dubious value to the reader. Wasted Time R (talk) 01:32, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
And I have not been adding them all over wikipedia. I only keep watch/edit three bands. The layout of the song listing came originaly from someone else so I decided since one article had it, I would start to add it to other articles of that artist. Originaly they had one setlist posted for the entire tour, which seemed misleading. I changed it to the full song listing (and someone else decided it was better to include the albums the songs were associated with. Check out how I changed the Wrecking Ball Tour article with the songs performed list. I made them hidden so the article looks less cluttered. If the songs remain I will do that for each article (with sources of course).Jason1978 (Jason1978) 02:18, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
Have you looked at the Pearl Jam tour articles? Like Springsteen they don't stick to one setlist and always change it nightly. They also happen to list the songs performed the same way I did in the Springsteen articles although minus the albums the songs were on. Oh and none of it seems to be sourced either. Take a look at Ten Tour, Backspacer Tour, Riot Act Tour etc. It's all the same and NO, I had no role in editing their articles. Look at Paul McCartney's tour articles especially his 2011 On The Run Tour which includes 28 different setlists in the article. Really is 28 different setlists needed? On top of that, you want useless triva, ALL of his tour articles then list out every song performed in a large layout and detail what instrument each band member performs on each song. It already once lists each band member's name in the article and instruments they play. Jason1978 (talk) 06:00, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:RHCP2011promo.jpgThanks for uploading File:RHCP2011promo.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone.
Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 09:55, 13 July 2012 (UTC) Page titlesHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Red Hot Chili Peppers 1988 Tour a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Turd Town Tour. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history. In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:15, 21 September 2012 (UTC) Adding utter useless trivia to articlesJason1978, we discussed the dubious value and sourcing for your "Songs performed" sections before, but at least they were songs that were performed. Now you are adding "Soundchecked/on setlist but not performed" lists to tour articles. What is the rationale for this? These articles are supposed to be about what was played at concerts that audiences heard. They are not about what was not played or what audiences did not hear. For example, at Tunnel of Love Express Tour you have listed about 50 songs in the "Soundchecked/on setlist but not performed" list - a longer list than the songs that were performed. And what is your sourcing for this? A fan site, Greasy Lake, that is not a WP:RS to begin with, and that furthermore, doesn't list any "Soundchecked/on setlist but not performed" entries for any of the shows that I've checked. But even if they did, this information is of no value to the article - it's just the bottom level of Bruce trivia for Bruce ultradiehards. It's the kind of stuff that belongs on the BTX fan boards, not here. And you've added this to a dozen articles at least. Wasted Time R (talk) 02:41, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

You must have missed the link to WP:CRYSTAL I provided, which clearly states that an event which hasn't taken place yet should be notable enough on its own merits to mention ("Individual scheduled or expected future events should be included only if the event is notable and almost certain to take place. Dates are not definite until the event actually takes place."). That they announced an upcoming concert offers no guarantees that it will actually take place, hence the reference to The White Stripes. Judging from your contributions and talk page, your fanaticism for the Red Hot Chili Peppers is perhaps admirable, but not quite what is needed to make this event notable. Your edit summary which states "It's Red Hot Chili Peppers" probably says it all. Except that the article you're editing is about the Sullivan Arena, not the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and isn't standing up as encyclopedic content pertaining to the Sullivan Arena, for the reasons I outline above. I have performed a search with the contents of High Hopes Tour, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Bruce Springsteen 2014 Tour. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history. It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. Mosmof (talk) 05:29, 3 February 2014 (UTC) Responding to your comment about unperformed Springsteen songsThis is in response to your comment on my talk page about Springsteen's setlists. I'm well aware he does a handwritten setlist for each show, that he often deviates from it once he actually takes the stage, and that on the Working on a Dream Tour he simply left a couple of spots essentially blank with the notation "Requests," or sometimes just a question mark, to reflect the "signs segment." Springsteen's own website, which contains concert info only as far back as 2009, published the handwritten setlists for tour dates in 2009 and 2012 (but, notably, not 2013 or 2014). Springsteen's website is clearly a reliable source. Other websites are not necessarily so. Greasy Lake, for example, states that the site is fan-based and fan-operated, expressly disclaims any reliability and says they don't double-check information, and says they are not responsible for errors. A site that explicitly says they do not double-check cannot be considered a reliable source according to Wikipedia's guidelines. The "Brucebase" wiki site does not satisfy WP:RS because it doesn't give any source for the information—it's simply posted by anonymous individuals. Obviously, just because something is on the Internet does not automatically make it true, and anyone who's ever revised anything on Wikipedia knows that it's susceptible to misinformation from (a) well-intentioned but overzealous people who take rumor as fact and (b) pranksters who deliberately set out to falsify information. I'm not suggesting a site like "Brucebase" regularly suffers from those problems, but there's nothing preventing it, and I also firmly believe citing to a wiki that does not include sources may violate Wikipedia's ban on original research. But, setting all that aside, the bigger question when it comes to songs listed on a setlist and not ultimately performed, or songs soundchecked and never performed during the show, is how they are relevant here. This is an article about a tour and about what was actually performed on the tour. If there were a particular reason for a song being dropped at the last minute and a reliable source could be offered, then it might be noteworthy (but again, it might not)—suppose, for example, Springsteen had been scheduled to perform a concert in Asia on September 11, 2001, and shortly before he took the stage word of events in New York and Washington came in and he dropped "Darlington County" in response in favor of a subdued set. That might be notable. But otherwise, except for obvious situations (adding "Viva Las Vegas" in that city, for example), generally nobody knows what went into Springsteen's decision about whether to add or drop a particular track, so there's really no significance to it for purposes of a tour article. It's trivia. The "External Links" section of each tour article is a fine place to include links to Brucebase, Backstreets.com, Greasy Lake, etc., for people who are truly interested in delving into that level of minutia. But unperformed songs and soundchecked material simply are not notable for the tour in general. After all, it's well-documented that some artists (Paul McCartney being a good example) routinely soundcheck stuff they never add to the set, whereas others (Springsteen, for example) sometimes soundcheck songs they're considering adding—but even then, they may or may not actually add them. I guess this is a long way of addressing two issues. The first is the WP:RS issue. The second relates to guidelines such as WP:NOTNEWS and WP:IINFO, both of which strongly counsel against the idea that every single appearance an artist like Springsteen makes, and every single song he might perform at every such appearance, automatically deserves mention on Wikipedia. They don't. Wikipedia doesn't attempt to provide a show-by-show database because it's not the function of an encyclopedia and because there are other sites for that purpose and they perform the job admirably well. Certainly there are particular instances that deserve mention. The performance of "Sun City" last week in Cape Town is one such example because of where it was performed, the song's meaning, the country's history, and the song having been banned there in the past. But something like a song off the Wrecking Ball album not being performed is minutia. A very good guideline is the ten-year test, which suggests asking, "In ten years will this addition still appear relevant?" In the context of a Springsteen tour, in ten years will anyone other than hard-core Springsteen devotees (who are likely to be well-aware of the other sources for detailed concert information) care that he soundchecked a particular song but did not perform it? Another way to consider this issue might be that in 2008 and 2009, the "signs segment" often saw the revival of songs Springsteen hadn't played in 30+ years. That's relevant, it's interesting for the context of that tour, and it's worthy of mention. What song was played when is not—for example, "On August 23, 2008, at a show in St. Louis Springsteen began the show with Then She Kissed Me, a cover of a Crystals single he had not played live since 1975" is overly detailed for this sort of article. In the WP:10YT context, in ten years the Magic and Working on a Dream Tours will still be memorable for the "signs segment" and the seemingly-spontaneous nature of that part of the show, but what songs were actually played in that segment will likely be of far less interest except to the devotees. You also mentioned the acoustic pre-show sets. I'm well aware of those (I wish he'd perform one in Washington, DC, sometime!) and I think as a general matter Springsteen's occasional practice of doing that bears a brief mention, but that's all it has to be. Saying that on dates X, Y, and Z Springsteen performed acoustic sets two hours before showtime and listing what songs he played is again getting into excessive unnecessary detail that's better provided through the fan sites. Saying that at a number of shows Springsteen revived a sporadic practice from past tours of occasionally coming onstage to perform a few songs for early arrivals in a solo acoustic performance is sufficient. It's a bad idea to make too big a deal out of this because it's obviously not a routine practice—it's the exception, not the rule. (Of course, who knows? Maybe he might change his practice so as to make it routine, although that seems unlikely. If he does that, then the article can obviously be revised later. That's an important consideration as well: It's not a good idea to try to draw conclusions in advance based on a three- or four-song sample. Appearing early in Johannesburg doesn't mean he'll do the same thing in Sydney or Auckland or wherever. I'm sure everyone with tickets would love to have some way of knowing!) Please understand that I'm not trying to attack you with these comments. I can tell you're interested in the topic and that you're probably quite knowledgeable about Springsteen's tours. That's a good thing. It's just a case where it appears you're often a bit too eager to include every bit of detailed minutia without giving serious thought to whether the average reader (who, let's face it, is unlikely to be a serious Springsteen devotee) either wants or needs that level of information. I guess in a way it's sort of like responding to e-mail. We all know how sometimes it's important and necessary to take a step back and say "do I really need to say that?" and "is it really a good idea to send this?" I think that same principle often applies to adding heavy detail to Wikipedia articles. 1995hoo (talk) 14:47, 6 February 2014 (UTC) I completely understand where you are coming from and do not consider it an attack. I understand the reasoning behind not adding the songs not performed. Your reasons are much better than some I have encountered. There have been some back and fourth debates on if songs performed/setlists should even be added. Someone a while back was constantly removing them. Considering most band's tour articls feature songs performed or a setlist, I didn't see why Springsteen should be different. Also noticed you mentioned DC...I am from Maryland and go to all the DC/PA shows. Hopefully an announcement happens today. Looks like if rumors hold up, the PA, NY, DC shows could be in May. Seems like forever since that Nationals Park show. Wouldn't mind a return there (though staff handled it poorly getting into the venue). Pit tickets were easy to get for that show.Jason1978 (talk) 10:02, 10 February 2014 (UTC) Rumored Springsteen dateshey, I'm aware of the picture (and countless sightings at various venues). However, the picture itself is not a quality reference, meaning not up the quality standard that wikipedia tries to provide. As long as there is no confirmation via a reliable source (such as springsteen's official page, shorefire media, billboard.com or other respectable sources) it is regarded as a rumour and does therefor not belong in that article. nashvillescene.com clearly states in the article that is not confirmed yet, therefore it does not belong on this page. we expect the official confirmation of tour dates any minutes, until then it is suitable for this article. please adhere to the quality standards of wikipedia. zwirnie (talk) 13:54, 10 February 2014 (UTC) File:Rhcpsuperbowl.jpg listed for deletionA file that you uploaded or altered, File:Rhcpsuperbowl.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. It appears that you tried to give Red Hot Chili Peppers 2013 Tour a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Red Hot Chili Peppers 2013/2014 Tour. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. If you look at the Kiedis Talk page, you will notice quite a large amount of discussion around this. My suggestion would be to keep this encyclopaedic and try to avoid putting in what amounts to WP:gossip. And I'm sure you agree that if we are going to list every woman that Kiedis has ever been pictured with, we'll end up with a very long list indeed. Let's wait until we get some kind of official confirmation? I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale. If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. I recall the tease of "D'yer Mak'er" being just Anthony singing the first few lines of the song (Oh oh oh oh oh oh, you don't have to go) prior to their own song. Usually a Zeppelin song when covered has been a jam. Chad has done a few during his drum solos. There are a lot of covers missing from the full list, which does badly need updating and I have attempted to do so. Just a quick question about the new article you created - I noticed it has a tag on it with a 2010 date, that was placed there from the beginning when the article was created. Was this a copy/paste page move, or perhaps an old article that was deleted (hence the tag from 2010 on a completely new article). Thanks for any insights. The survey should take no more than 1-2 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics. Your survey Link: https://uchicago.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9S3JByWf57fXEkR?Q_DL=56np5HpEZWkMlr7_9S3JByWf57fXEkR_MLRP_bEL8YIrMcT53iFn&Q_CHL=gl I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations. Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 12:37, 16 April 2018 (UTC) Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. The material in question has also been suppressed from public view. Please understand that I do believe you made this edit in good faith, but we need to be very careful on biographies of living people about what is said, quality of sourcing, proof vs. allegations, etc. Please do not re-add the material in question or refer to its contents explicitly (either in the Jim Cummings article, or here on your talk page, or anywhere else here on Wikipedia). If you believe I have acted in error and wish to discuss the matter further, you can e-mail the oversight team or contact me directly off-wiki. — Richwales (no relation to Jimbo) 15:11, 4 May 2019 (UTC) ArbCom 2019 election voter messageOrphaned non-free image File:Songsoftheroad.jpgThanks for uploading File:Songsoftheroad.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale. If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 07:54, 9 December 2024 (UTC) |
