User talk:Ilja.nieuwlandHello welcome to wikipedia. Nice work on Cornelis Dopper but ALWAYS remember to category it at the bottom of the page e.g Category:Dutch composers by placing a [[ ]] around. I see you wikify well. It would be great if you start writing new articles on Dutch composers and painters or something. All the best Ernst Stavro Blofeld 16:48, 11 November 2006 (UTC) I have added the birth and death categories and a portrait of him Cornelis Dopper Ernst Stavro Blofeld 16:53, 11 November 2006 (UTC) Thanks! Also, for the category hint, I figured I'd thought of everything but that was obviously not the case. There are still loads of composers to go through, so I guess I'll be back. BadingsInteresting about Badings and Pijper- but useful to provide where the information has been obtained if it's not clearly on one of the external links... Thanks! I've partly reverted your recent edit, the one in which you replaced the format of the headings. This is because the standard format (on English wikipedia, at least) goes ==, then ===, then ====, etc., not the other way around as you did. Jashiin (talk) 13:03, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Xaver ScharwenkaDear Ilja, I have slightly cropped some words of yours in the X.S. article which had had citation requests on them for a long time. Nothing very drastic and I have kept your sense mainly. If you have some printed refs I'm sure they'd be well appreciated in this article. Best wishes, Eebahgum (talk) 22:19, 3 April 2008 (UTC) History of Science WikiProjectBased on your userpage, you might be interested in joining the History of Science WikiProject. Cgingold (talk) 03:07, 4 January 2009 (UTC) PijperI've found, generally, that critical writing does reflect that Willem Pijper is "generally" considered the most important Dutch serious music composer. I know we all have our favorites and some later critics may disagree, but Wiki needs to reflect what the preponderance of Reliable Sources state. I'm going to add words to this effect back in to the lede for the article. If he's "the Netherland's Beethoven" or some such epithet, then someone doing research for a school paper or whatever the general Wiki-reader needs should see something along those lines. They can dig deeper into the sources to then evaluate what the majority of musicologists say/think. The 2010 New Grove reflects this, and there is an essay by Dutch music professor David C. Wright that concludes "He is to the Netherlands what Sibelius is to Finland" - just two examples. Ok? HammerFilmFan (talk) 11:25, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
