Protests & Suffragettes Wiki WorkshopHello again IanTheArchivist! It was great to see you at the Saturday workshop, and I hope that you enjoyed the session. Now that you've learned the basics, I really would encourage you to keep editing! If you'd like a reminder about how to edit, there's a good guide on Wikimedia Commons that I've linked to here. Wiki is never finished - it's a constantly evolving entity. And there are a huge community of other editors out there who can help. Here's some links that I hope you'll find useful:
To start a new article you can use your sandbox, or the Drafts function. You can find out more about what's happening with Wikimedia in Scotland on the WMUK site here. To keep up to date about Wikimedia events happening throughout Scotland, to learn more about ScotWiki projects, or to publicise your own ScotWiki event or project, join the ScotWiki Mailing List! Thanks for your collaboration on Scottish suffragettes, here's to more activities in the future! Karen Kaybeesquared (talk) 18:53, 20 September 2020 (UTC) update on Henria Leech Williams@IanTheArchivist Hope that you are ok with my amendments to this article: added image and more text on Annie's Arboretum (including that Annie Kenney dedicated the tree to 'Henriette' (sic) Williams which was in the reference sited) and corrected my own typo in table of Annie's Arboretum added at end. And also I then amended the section on your discoveries - third person, surname neutral voice, and shortened text. As we are not meant to write about our own activities on wikipedia, I do hope you will take this as a positive encouragement of all that you have done on identifying a notable suffragette almost forgotten, and on this article. Is there a picture of Mary in the Bath Chronicle? If it doesnt mention the photographer then we could use it.... umm thinks - Iwonder, Did the Blathwayts garden ever make the press with pics? Victuallers (talk) 11:26, 11 March 2021 (UTC) Victuallers (talk and IanTheArchivist (talk) asked me to reply: There is a nice close-up picture in the Bath Chronicle which has no mention of photographer see under the heading OBITUARY here [1] it same edition different page as ref no 35 on her article or see email off-wiki. Ian has offered to search BNA re Blathwayts? Thanks for the DYK nomination! Kaybeesquared (talk) 13:13, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
DYK for Mary Morris (doctor)On 26 March 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Mary Morris (doctor), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that when the Conservative Mary Morris claimed to "never to have been a militant suffragette", the audience laughed? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Mary Morris (doctor). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Mary Morris (doctor)), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (ie, 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. — Maile (talk) 03:09, 26 March 2021 (UTC) A barnstar for you!

Edith SuttonLooks good so far! Couple of general points from yesterday.
Some more training guides (pdf) are available and on the Dashboard here. Thanks for joining us yesterday! Stinglehammer (talk) 16:04, 1 April 2021 (UTC) for interest - criminal biography categoryJust noted today that Jessie Kenney was categorised in WikiProject Criminal Biography https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Jessie_Kenney&diff=next&oldid=1006334363 Looking at this category there is not a section for political prisoners treated as criminals or UK suffragettes specifically? But if Jessie Kenney is categorised that way, should her family and the rest of the Eagle House (suffragette's rest) suffragettes or the Holloway brooch and Hunger Strike Medal recipients be in this category too? For consistency and connecting with the treatment of women's suffrage prisoners?? I have contacted Ewan and Roger on-wiki and wait their reply but it may assist future article on Prisoner Divisions. Hello Ian. We just talked on the University of Edinbugh zoom call. As discussed, I've recently started an article about my namesake who came from your part of Glasgow and so may be familiar to you. I get up that way myself from time to time too as I have family connections in the area. So, please keep in touch and feel free to ask if you need help with one of your articles. A Merry Christmas and Hogmanay to you too. Andrew🐉(talk) 17:52, 17 December 2021 (UTC) Hello again. I just heard you say something about loading a picture for your current article. FYI, I produced some step-by-step instructions for the Edinburgh event -- how to load a fair use image which is typically feasible for a dceased person. See User:Emcee47/images. Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page.
