User talk:HansMHalloHallo HansM, vielen Dank für Frederick William, Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preferenceHello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled. On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note. Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 21:23, 14 March 2011 (UTC) Reviewer grantedHello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use. Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges. For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Disambiguation link notification (for HansM)Hi, this message is to let you know about disambiguation links you've recently created. A link to a disambiguation page is almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.

First of all thank you for your work on German nobility - it's great to have a fellow enthusiast on board! With regard to the above article, I'm not sure the title is correct. My understanding is that the Welfs in this part of the world routinely shared the Duchy Brunswick-Lüneburg between them and that they all called themselves (confusingly) "Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg" and "Prince of FOO", where FOO=their allotted portion of the Duchy. So in this case, Frederick would have been both a "Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg" and "Prince of Calenberg", but not "Duke of Brunswick-Göttingen-Calenberg" because that wasn't a Duchy. In fact according to the main Brunswick-Lüneburg article, the Principality of Göttingen-Calenberg did not emerge until Frederick's death... but is that correct? On German Wiki they fudge this by calling the article de:Friedrich III. (Braunschweig-Calenberg-Göttingen). On English Wiki, we are supposed to use the "highest" title, so he could be Frederick III, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg. However, we then need to check whether he was Frederick III of B-L or Frederick III of Calenberg. I'm afraid it's all a bit of a minefield! For example, there were several Otto II's of different branches! I also have this one listed as Frederick IV of B-L, but only Frederick of Calenberg, as Calenberg had no other Fredericks. Where has the III come from? --Bermicourt (talk) 19:03, 7 December 2011 (UTC) Disambiguation link notificationHi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links to disambiguation pages. I see you changed "Rudolph" to "Rudolf" e.g. at Albert of Saxe-Wittenberg, Duke of Lüneburg. Normally in English we use the Anglicized versions of historic nobility e.g. "Henry" for "Heinrich" or "Henri". Interestingly, although the article on Rudolf II, Duke of Saxe-Wittenberg uses "Rudolf", the German script above his contemporary picture reads "Churfürst Rudolph II." So it would seem even the Germans used "Rudolph". I didn't know that! --Bermicourt (talk) 19:53, 17 March 2012 (UTC) Disambiguation link notification for March 19Hi. Both templates are used to indicate the source of the interwiki translation but Translation/ref is deprecated. Although it has been used as a reference in the early days and can still be found in the external links section of older articles, this practice is now being discouraged since self-referencing to Wikipedia means using unreliable sources. Your original stub says he had 2 daughters but only lists one Millicent aka Elizabeth married to a Robert Marmion b.1093. The two articles deal with shipping companies from the Neckar which operated cargo shipping and passenger shipping. It would be nice if there was an English version of the two articles. Or maybe you know someone who wants to translate the articles? --Hiquwus (talk) 18:07, 14 May 2018 (UTC) ArbCom 2018 election voter messageHello, HansM.
