Thanks a lot! ^_^ I'm just trying to help with any information I can dig up, and I don't have enough time to bother with my own page which is why I put such a short intro to myself. I'm busy with so many projects it's not even funny. I hope to continue helping getting correct information best I can ^_^. Gamloverks (talk) 14:35, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, it looks a lot better, but I don't think it is ready for a GA. Even Kobe Bryant is still not a GA yet. A reviewer from the GA department will come to address what needs to be done. For now, withdraw the GA and instead list for peer review. And by the way, to make multiple citations,
Name the reference. For example: <ref name="Name">{{cite ...|author=...|....}}</ref>
Then when you want to use the citation again, put the name of the reference in the text like this: <ref name="Name" /> BE SURE TO PUT THE FORWARD SLASH INSIDE THE BRACKETS.
Here's a true example:
Yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda<ref name="Yadda">yadda yadda yadda</ref>
yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda<ref name="Yadda" />
== References ==
{{reflist}}
produces this:
Yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda[1] yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda[1]
Per WP:REF, I think you should include more references rather than using one over and over 8 times. Expand the lead (2-3 nice developed paragraphs), and copyedit the entire article. I see some grammar errors. (Too bad I'm not this) Cheers,Thisisborin9sign here!22:31, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I added more to the intro/personal and included more references. Is it okay that I use wikipedia is a viable source for the NBA Playoff articles? Gamloverks (talk) 01:33, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Copy and paste the following to your list of JavaScript commands. This will activate the script within and allow you to easily insert references into an article.
Sorry, I was on vacation and didn't have enough time to tell you. I also noticed the lead. I tried to revert it once, but the same IP reverted it back. I didn't want this to elevate to an editwar, so I left it that way... Cheers,Thisisborin9sign here!08:20, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No offense, but I'll be blunt: You've done good work so far, but this article still has some work to do before it passes GA. I've started to work on it, and hopefully, with a little collaboration, we can push this through. Noble Story (talk) 11:43, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, some of the text used in the article comes straight from the references, which is very troubling. That is plagiarism and copyright violation (i.e illegal and definitely not allowed here). Noble Story (talk) 12:01, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks for the heads up, I'm still improving on such things, so any clean-up or fixing you can do is much appreciated. Gamloverks (talk) 17:25, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Everything looks fine, I'll pass the article, but the statement about him being single and residing in Marina del Rey, in the Personal life section, needs a source, though. -- ThinkBlue (HitBLUE)01:27, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I'm glad to know that your hard work was given into your first GA. ;) If there's any other article in particular you would like for me to review, please don't hesitate to hit me. -- ThinkBlue (HitBLUE)02:01, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the anti-vandal recognition re: this article. It's hard to call recent changes patrolling a thankless task when nice people like you thank me. :-) Jclemens (talk) 04:29, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Congratulations!!!!!
Congratulations on getting Pau Gasol to a good article!!! Wow, you had 184 edits on it. That's amazing; I've never seen someone more dedicated than you. It looked so much better since the last time I saw it (it was a wreck!) I'll give you the barnstars when I have time. Cheers,Thisisborin9sign here!19:47, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If you are interested in editing article related to the NBA, please add your name to the member list, if you have not already.
This Month in NBA History..
June 6, 1946 – In the Commodore Hotel of New York, the NBA is officially formed as the Basketball Association of America. Maurice Podoloff is named the first commissioner of the league.
Last month's Collaboration of the Month, Magic Johnson was a great success. A total of 560 edits were made to the article during the month of May, and the article was eventually nominated as a Featured Article Candidate. Although the article was not promoted, it was significantly improved through the work of many editors.
This month's Collaboration of the Month is Steve Nash. Although this is article is already a Good Article, it still can be improved. In particular, all prose should conform to Featured Article standards, all statements should be verified, and the text should be in a neutral point of view. If there is anything you can do to improve the article, then please help out.
Collaborator of the Month
The Collaborator of the Month is given to the editor with the most number of substantial, beneficial edits to the article chosen as the Collaboration of the Month.
This month's Collaborator of the Month award goes to Chensiyuan (talk·contribs). Although he had previously helped Magic Johnson to became a Good article, he made literally hundreds of edits during the month of May. For his contributions, he is rewarded with the NBA Collaborator of the Month Award.
However, all beneficial edits made by any editor was a help. Other members of the project that contributed to the article include:
I don't necessarily know how an A-Class article works, but if you go here and leave a request, I think you can probably get the article to A-Class. I'm not really the reliable person to ask this. As for the GA's on my page, if you'd like, I can add it your page, instead of giving you the whole code system thing. -- ThinkBlue (HitBLUE)16:16, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've added it. If you have any GA's, just look at the examples on my page and you'll be fine. Take your time, don't get stressed out with the A-Class. Just, do what you can and then you can work on another project. ;) -- ThinkBlue (HitBLUE)19:17, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
