Hello. I have mass reverted your delinking of 2020 North Indian Ocean cyclone season. Could you explain why you did that, and what you meant by "disruptive" as you have said in the edit summaries? Thanks. JavaHurricane 12:31, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

Samuel Ikin is a notable new graphic designer and photographer in Combe Down. This is not spam as having a Wikipedia page and links will help boost his online presence and contribute to forwarding his career. I am keenly interested in his work and would not like to see him discouraged. His work is sensitive and moving, especially his photography, and I feel it would benefit this encyclopaedia to have a mention of him.

Rollback

Hi Dam222. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 21:11, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

user warning

I don't see why you were warning this user for vandalism. Please read Wikipedia:Vandalism. This editor was trying to make constructive changes and may have been making changes against consensus but there was no vandalism. MB 20:07, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If the user is warned again and again, he repeats the thing again and again, it is not vandalismΒ ? Dam222 πŸŒ‹ (talk) 20:12, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No it is not. I suggested you read Wikipedia:Vandalism where is says vandalism is the "malicious removal of encyclopedic content, or the changing of such content beyond all recognition, without any regard to our core content policies of neutral point of view (which does not mean no point of view), verifiability and no original research, is a deliberate attempt to damage Wikipedia." I have looked at this users recent edits and see nothing that would qualify as vandalism, their edits appear well-intentioned.
There were two warnings last month for adding uncited material, and then two warnings from you 15 minutes apart for "disruptive" editing - that is hardly doing the same thing again and again. MB 20:54, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If the user intentionally does this then it is Vandalim, I have already read it, because of lag it happened, Thanks Dam222 πŸŒ‹ (talk) 21:07, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If they intentionally make changes that they believe are improvements - it is not vandalism. You reverted some changes that were not wrong. At Nanjing Dajiaochang Airport, they added the date the airport closed to the infobox which was clearly an improvement. There other edits were striking-out text that, although is against the WP:MOS (which was recently clarified), is done in many airport articles - so this user may have thought that was the correct thing to do. You just reverted everything with no explanation. MB 21:22, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Premature invitations

Please do not add the names of users to a WikiProject's roster unless they have actually accepted the invitation. Normally, we let them do it themselves. @MarioJump83: Also, this invitation was premature and grossly inappropriate. This person has a long history of edit-warring, and they were even socking for some time. Until they have proven that they're not longer a disruptive user, they should not be issued an invitation. Simple as that. And the more experienced users will be the judge of that. @HurricaneEdgar: This applies to you as well. I've been seeing far too many premature invitations to users who clearly aren't ready yet. We've already had a discussion on the WPTC talk page on how to handle future invitations (in Archive 44), and I think that it's time that we start enforcing it. I've seen far too many cases of invitations to users who end up getting blocked for various issues, or are revealed to be the socks of an LTA. This kind of stuff makes us look completely incompetent. And honestly, there are plenty of other users who are fed up with this as well. If this continues, I will have no choice but to push for a binding invitation moratorium on WPTC (at least for the newer users who joined in the last 1–2 years). If this happens, anyone who breaches the moratorium will be subject to sanctions. LightandDark2000 πŸŒ€ (talk) 20:32, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Alcoholics and drug addicts and rehab is acceptable. But mental health is not. It is a silent killer because people are afraid if being shamed. It can happen to anyone and until it happens that someone champions this illness it will stay in the closet. The legal red tape during the pandemic made it impossible to get to her by her CLOSE family members who live far away. Her published address and disappearance online made it possible for 7 months for anyone to sneak in and get inside, but legally family could not until cleared by legal red tape it all comes at a cost due to the redtape, lawyers, detectives, cleanup, etc

You tagged this page as gibberish but it was just not in English, it was not nonsense at all. If you use the Chrome browser, you should get the Google Translate extension and then you can highlight a section of text and translate it or even translate an entire page and see what the text says. WikiProject Weather: Map Dot & Template/Infobox Colors

Dear project member, This message is being sent out to encourage new ideas and feedback on those proposed in regard to the colors debate for WikiProject Weather. For those who are unaware of what's been happening over the last year, I will give a brief summary. We have been discussing proposed changes to the colors of the dots on tropical cyclone maps and templates and infoboxes across the entire weather project in order to solve issues related to the limited contrast between colors for both normal vision as well as the various types of color blindness (MOS:ACCESS). We had partially implemented a proposal earlier this year, however, it was objected to by a number of people and additional issues were presented that made it evident this wasn't the optimal solution. We tried to come up with other solutions to address the issues related to color contrast, however, none of them gained traction and no consensus was generated.

We need your help and I encourage you to propose your own scale and give feedback on those already listed. Keep in mind that we are NOT making a decision on any individual proposal at this time. We are simply allowing people to make proposals and cultivate them given feedback from other project members. Please visit our project page for additional details. The proposal phase will close no later than December 31st at 23:59 UTC. NoahTalk 03:37, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
