I don't often work with Latvian texts or content, so have not developed any familiarity with the language. The best I can do is ask for particular confirmation of my preliminary treatments. As you're the first speaker of Latvian I've encountered here, I really appreciate your pitching in! -- Deborahjay 13:12, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
WWII memorial inscription in LatviaI'd appreciate your assistance (again :-) in understanding a particular phrase on a memorial monument, this one in the Bikernieki Forest near Riga. The text (in Russian as well as Latvian), in provisional translation to English, reads: "In the Bikernieki Forest, from 1941 to 1944, the German Fascist occupiers cruelly murdered 46,500 [peaceful?] civilians" (the words after the figure being the focus of my query):
A photo of the monument can be viewed here (Cat. No. 42824). Thanks for any light you can shed on this! -- Deborahjay 09:39, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
So you've assessed the Russian in the bargain! -- where I come from, we call this "value added" translating and esteem it greatly among our colleagues :-)
Corey Clark InfoboxHi. I'm not that good with Infoboxes, and the photo in the Corey Clark infobox is too big, and my attempts to reduced it failed. I noticed you in the History page of the Infobox page. Can you help? Thanks. That page is ⓒ 2009 Gatis Pāvils. To be included in Wikipedia the wording should be changed so that it summarises that page without quoting it word-for-word. Otherwise it will simply be deleted, which would be a shame. SiGarb | (Talk) 23:31, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
The Lost World (Conan Doyle novel)Thanks for your edit. Could you please add a source for the change? I think it has been the subject of disagreements before. Cheers. Span (talk) 13:24, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
Harwood HoleThanks for your comments on the Talk page for Harwood Hole. You are right, so I'm not sure why you did not make a corection to the article. It's done now. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Latvian Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 18:22, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
Colonia del SacramentoI just reviewed the article Colonia del Sacramento and made a few edits to improve sentence structure and clarity, but I came across the following sentence in the section "Urban fabric" which I do not understand. I discovered that you wrote the sentence, so I'm asking you.
What is "16 ha large Barrio Histórico"? I know what "Barrio Histórico" is. What is "16 ha large"?CorinneSD (talk) 16:50, 15 October 2013 (UTC)
WondermondoHello Daarznieks. Are you by any chance the guy who runs the Wondermondo website? Number 57 21:01, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
