I saw that you previously deleted this article before. I was thinking of re-instating it since this person has been on TV a few times and has significant media appearances. What are your thoughts? A bit of research has shown him appear on the BBC, Newsweek, Guardian, Independent, Wall Street Journal .etc Also his name appears in a couple of articles if you search it here on Wikipedia. - Vermillion trade — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vermillion trade (talkcontribs) 16:54, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A common problem

Dear Wikipedist editor, I want to submit to your attention an our common problem: disruptive contributions and edit warring operated by user Derek farn (talk). This latter shows systematically a provoking behaviour and lacking of respect for other people’s work, typical of vandalism. I’ve sent this communication to many people having the same problem in order to organize a collective protest/action request directed to e.g. the Arbitration Committee or Requests for comment/User conduct (this latter procedure requires the participation of at least two users) or to the Wikipedia Community. If you agree with this initiative please contact me at this dedicated email address: clipeaster-1971 AT yahoo DOT com. In order to avoid creating of a forum section dedicated to Derek farn I suggest you to delete this communication once you’ve read it and, then, be in contact via email. Any suggestion are welcomed. I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Structuralgeol (talk) 18:17, 15 July 2011 (UTC).[reply]

As another user pointed out to me that suggesting to be in contact outside wikipedia is not a correct way, for transparency reasons, so I conclude that we need to correspond via talk page. Best regards, Structuralgeol (talk) 02:35, 16 July 2011 (UTC).[reply]
You are correct. Also, I find nothing waranting any extreme measures. Perhaps you should give more time to the arbitration process, or accept that not everyone holds the same views as you and work toward a compromise. Cheers! CobaltBlueTony™ talk 18:05, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Undeletion request

Hi, I noticed that in 2008 you deleted a redirect entitled "Game Informer Issue 181: Gears of War 2". From the sound it in this discussion, I believe that the information from this former article would be perfect for the WP:VG Reference Library - a non-mainspace project that is ongoing here. Is there any way to undelete the page so that I can transfer the information here? Alternately if you can still see the information from that former page, you may be able to make a snap determination as to whether the information would be of any help at the Reference Library. Thanks. -Thibbs (talk) 15:49, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Adminship Anniversary

The article Keshav Dev Temple has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There has been a {{notability}} tag on this article for the past three years, and the issue has yet to be resolved.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. @ 06:13, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Polyarchy, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Kratos and Poly (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

deletion of [Christopher Manning]

I believe that we should re-review the deletion of an article on a very notable scientist in the field of computer science and natural language processing.

He is the author of seminal books on entire fields, like Introduction to Information Retrieval (a book mentioned in English Wikipedia 23 times [1]).

His peers are generally listed in Wikipedia, and not briefly, see Prabhakar Raghavan, Andrew Ng etc.

He is mentioned in articles like International Conference on Intelligent Text Processing and Computational Linguistics, Studies in Natural Language Processing and Mary Dalrymple and cited in others, for example Information retrieval

He leads the Stanford NLP Group and is behind the Stanford CoreNLP software suite which is used widely in industry for NLP problems like machine translation. His work has been cited 44K+ times, mostly in the last 5 years. [2] People frequently search for his name on the web. [3]

Also, currently Chris manning redirects to a court case where a much less notable barrister with that name was involved.

Thanks for the welcome in 2008

Hi Cobaltbluetony, hope you're well. Just realized I never thanked you back in 2008 when you welcomed me to Wikipedia - so thanks! samtar {t} 13:22, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity

Information icon Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in more than one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e. as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised, that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions, and that you have not been inactive for a three-year period of time). If you remain inactive for a three-year period of time, including the present year you have been inactive, you will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA. This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts.
