Apology acceptedI accept your apology. Everyone, myself definitely included, make mistakes. Honestly, I should of have asked if you wanted to discuss about including that bit of text about Valleyfair employees in the article instead of assuming that you were using the talk page as a forum. Coaster1983 (talk) 19:11, 15 June 2008 (UTC) Joining projectsThe Welcoming Committee is very easy to join - have a look at Wikipedia:Welcoming Committee for more info. Just add yourself to the member list, and familiarize yourself with the various welcome templates that can be used on new users' talk pages. I find the ones listed at WP:UTM are particularly helpful. Remember to choose an appropriate one for the user you have decided to welcome - so, for example, if a user has made some unhelpful edits, don't use a template that thanks them for their contributions! Welcoming new users can help newbies find their way around, and can also encourage new users whose first edits have not been helpful, and hopefully bring them on board as productive contributors. Hope you join us - thanks for your message and best wishes. --Karenjc 23:21, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
Adding Speedy Deletion TagsIt's very simple to do. Simply add the tag at the top of the article. For example, if the article is a advertisement, add {{db-spam}} to the top of the page. More details can be found here. Cheers! TN‑X-Man 00:36, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Your RfAI am sorry, but I have closed your Request for adminship prematurely. Simply put, you only have 120 edits on Wikipedia; while your edit count isn't the only determining factor, and numerous people have their own personal standards by which they judge RfA candidates, this particular RfA was all but assured of not passing. I am sorry about this, and I hope you don't take it personally. If you continue to contribute to the project in a positive fashion, I am confident that you would be able to submit a successful RfA in the future. You may wish to consider applying for an evaluation by other Wikipedia editors for feedback on how to obtain the necessary experience. Once you are ready to request adminship again, there is a great admin coaching program available, as well as a guide to requests for adminship. If you have any other questions about becoming an administrator, please don't hesitate to ask me. Good luck! Enigma message 03:23, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
A quick editor reviewHello, and thanks for submitting your RFA. I've left a list of general suggestions there that might help you in the future. I have also done an editor review. Cedarvale, Eagan, Minnesota is a nice start. Good vadal warning. I see some good Wikignome edits. A good start. However-- this edit is defamatory in nature, and merely expresses your opinion. Dorchester, IA was a nice try, but our naming conventions are for the full name of the state. This edit needs a verifiable source. You really should get more experience before warning uses about possible deletion. Also, we have a set of templated warnings to maintain a consistent message-- Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace. I believe we should lay a welcome on new users first of all. Wikipedia:Welcoming committee/Welcome templates. Aside form promoting a collegial atmosphere, it gives them a ready reference for policies and guidelines. In short, you're off to a good start, but more experience and familiarity with policies and guidelines are needed. Cheers, and happy editing. Dlohcierekim 03:35, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Iowa Farmer Today Webpage.jpgThanks for uploading Image:Iowa Farmer Today Webpage.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. Speedy deletion of Iowa Farmer TodayA tag has been placed on Iowa Farmer Today requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding Proposed deletion of Deerwood ElementaryA proposed deletion template has been added to the article Deerwood Elementary, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Back to DorchesterThanks for your note — the reason I've undone what you have at Dorchester is for linking reasons. Linking to Waukon isn't needed, because it's already linked above: this is overlinking. On the other hand, even though it's a redlink, you shouldn't remove the link to Allamakee Community School District: school districts are notable enough to get articles, so it's entirely reasonable to suppose that it would get its own article eventually — therefore you shouldn't remove the link (see [[Wikipedia:Red link for details). Finally, as far as the bus: it's frankly just trivia to include the all-in-one-bus, especially since I seriously doubt that it's verifiable. I'm not saying that it's untrue, but that it's not likely that a reliable source would discuss the fact. Moreover, it's really minor; even if Britannica had an article on Dorchester, I can't imagine it including that part — how does it help our encyclopedia to include that? Please don't think that I'm complaining at you; I simply want to ensure that you know my reasons for disagreeing with you :-) Nyttend (talk) 01:35, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:Iowa Farmer Today Website.pngThank you for uploading File:Iowa Farmer Today Website.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. — neuro(talk) 06:34, 6 March 2009 (UTC) License tagging for File:IowaFarmerTodayWebsite.pngThanks for uploading File:IowaFarmerTodayWebsite.png. As it is, we really list too many businesses there anyway, so I've removed the bits about other companies in the area. I left one that is based there: since so few companies overall have articles, it's reasonable to list the notable companies that are located there. Thanks for your question; and although I'll not likely be able to make many edits, look at my contributions and you may see new pictures being posted occasionally.
