User talk:Bluemarine
Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Bluemarine motion passedThe Committee's decision in this case and the preexisting community ban of Bluemarine (talk · contribs) are modified solely to the extent that Bluemarine is unblocked for the limited purpose of his making contributions related to increasing the accessibility of Wikipedia to users with handicapping conditions. This includes uploading encyclopedic audio files, formatting audio file templates, and captioning those audio files, as well as editing his userpage and talkpage, all under the mentorship of Durova (talk · contribs). Except as expressly provided in this motion, the ban on editing by Bluemarine remains in effect. If Bluemarine violates the terms of his limited unblock, or makes any comment reasonably regarded as harassing or a personal attack, he may be reblocked for an appropriate period of time by any uninvolved administrator. If Bluemarine complies with these conditions for a period of 60 days, a request for further modification of his ban may be submitted. For the Arbitration Committee,
Edit to user talk:EleemosynaryPlease don't push it, it's best to steer well clear of anything even vaguely contentious and any user with whom you have any past history. I suggest you try editing some non-political and non-controversial topics to better get the hang of how things work on Wikipedia. July 2009 You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating the condition of your unban as set forth at [1] by making edits unrelated to increasing the accessibility of Wikipedia to users with handicapping conditions, including but not limited to [2] and [3]. My editing ban was only against editing parts of my own biography. At least, that was my understanding. If you look above, you'll note that I requested an unblock and was told that I am not blocked just banned from editing on the Matt Sanchez talk page. So, I am at a loss to explain why I have been suddenly blocked for making edits to non-related articles. Also the ban was only supposed to be in effect for 60 days. I've made several appeals thereafter. "If Bluemarine complies with these conditions for a period of 60 days, a request for further modification of his ban may be submitted." The rules regarding participation here seem murky and ambiguous and I don't understand what my status is, but it seems that the quick jump to blocking me is abusive.
unclear what my current status is and editor Jpgordon has "backed off" his initial decline.

I'm getting consistently harassed by an editor who has shown a lack of professionalism, maturity and good faith. I have asked Allstarecho not to post on my talk page, and yet he/she has consistently done so in an antagonizing and immature manner. Please advise.
I've asked Allstarecho repeatedly not to post on my talk page, and yet he has done so to be both antagonistic, unhelpful and malicious. I don't want to have interaction with people of his/her caliber/character/persuasion or standing. Who do I direct my complaint to? The sooner biased, unqualified and contentious editors like Allstarecho are banned from the Matt Sanchez article, the better for all involved. Two years of this petty back and forth is disgraceful.
Matt Sanchez 11:23, 25 July 2009 (UTC) Blogging vs. ReportingThe portrayal of my reporting in Afghanistan and Iraq as "embedded blogging"[4] is inaccurate and a diminution of work here. I am a war correspondent. The attempts of certain editors to obscure this fact are unsupported and may indicate a lack of good faith I was never an "embedded blogger" in Iraq and Afghanistan, my credential was always as a embedded journalist. Over the past two years, I've reported for several news agencies, both domestic and international El_Norte_(Monterrey) at Grupo Reforma Spanish [12] My credential is as an embedded journalist, issued by Centcom. Please note Centcom does not have an "embedded blogger" credential. I am also credentialed as a journalist for the United Nations and separately by Special Forces--Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force - Afghanistan. Qualification: The UN and Special_Forces_(United_States_Army) are fairly difficult credentials to obtain and being an "embedded blogger" would not suffice. This is not to "build my resumé" as per some critics, these are just a facts that I can easily substantiate. I'd appreciate if the editors corrected the record at Matt Sanchez. Matt Sanchez 12:03, 25 July 2009 (UTC) If there are editors who wish to contact me please e-mail at Matthew.a.sanchez@gmail.com Matt Sanchez 13:32, 25 July 2009 (UTC) BUSTEDhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Eleemosynary I'd like to suggest a community ban for Allstarecho The editor User:Allstarecho continues to vandalize the Matt Sanchez Wikiquote page. Status reportPlease be as courteous as possible. You can remove messages from your talk page, but some people are very strict here about user conduct. So if you engage in name calling or attacks on other editors you will quickly find yourself unable to edit here.
So Matt...I'm going to have a little heart to heart here with you while you sit out the 72 hour block, because I want to discuss a few things. There has emerged a consensus on ANI for the imposition of editing restrictions as a replacement for your previous community ban. The restrictions read, as of now: Bluemarine's community ban is modified to a ban from the Matt Sanchez and Scott Thomas Beauchamp controversy article pages. He is prohibited from editing LGBT article topics and related talk pages, broadly construed. Bluemarine is encouraged to edit subjects that are not controversial or of personal and emotional investment so as to avoid dispute and confrontations and to gain experience editing Wikipedia collaboratively. As the community is extending good faith, please return it by limiting yourself to the one account and remember that personal attacks will not be tolerated. If Bluemarine violates the terms of this restriction he may be reblocked for an appropriate increment of time at the discretion of an administrator. Consider these in effect at this time. You were recently the subject of a SSI, at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Bluemarine. I do not believe the IP was you, but rather someone attempting to stir up trouble. In case it was you, I would note that the new editing restrictions now in place prevent multiple accounts, and being informed of them now trust you won't do it again. This illustrates why, as a user getting a second chance, actions you take which may be technically within policy are looked upon poorly if they are outside convention here. You have to be better then the rest of us. I'm not entirely sure why I've taken up your cause... My thinking skews very, very opposite yours, eventually ending up at a libertarian left. We disagree on a great many things, but I believe that all people have something to add to the work that goes on here, and that you in particular have much to write. Please, please don't make us look like fools. Follow the letter of your restrictions, and the spirit of policies. You may also wish to engage in a search for a mentor, as Durova will be with you only provisionally. I suggest you find someone you're comfortable with, and use that person. Bounce questions off them, learn from them. Think of these conditions as an opportunity to engage in a project greater then yourself and you may find it easier not to be pulled into the petty crap others wish to bait you into. Any questions? --Mask? 20:32, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Assigned to Iraq??Given the past couple of months I've spent in Afghanistan, I have probably been in A-stan just as much as in Iraq, and yet, the lede of the Matt Sanchez article limits me to Iraq
Can someone add Afghanistan to this lede?Blue Marine (talk) 17:50, 21 August 2009 (UTC) The Military history WikiProject Newsletter : XLI (July 2009)The July 2009 issue of the Military history WikiProject newsletter has been published. ArticleI just read through the state of the article. A couple things, first is I agree that it seems to emphasize blogging (even in the title of the section) and seems to skirt over the vast majority of your traditional reporting. I intend to rewrite that section, is there a way I could get a list of links to articles you've written, either on fox or elsewhere? The fact that you have dropped some entries on Fox's blog should probably stay in there, but just as a note and the section as a whole, including the title, should probably focus on your career as a journalist. Second, I didn't quite understand "The lede says I'm an "embed on assignment in Iraq". I've spent just as much time in Iraq." Could you possibly explain what you meant there? I could just be dense, but it left me confused. And the Ann Coulter photo... Is it under a free license? If so I don't really see a need to remove it. Any chance you can show me the diff that pulled it out? Thanks. --Mask? 20:13, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Topic ban clarificationYou may or may not be aware that your recent edits to Talk:Matt Sanchez were reported as a violation at the admin noticeboard. The consensus is there was no violation. You may want to read the discussion, but you probably don't need to respond at this point. To avoid further confusion, allow me to post this clarification:
And let me add, because I dislike indefinite sanctions, that you may request that these bans be modified or lifted any time by posting a request to the admin noticeboard, and that a request is most likely to be successful if you can show several months of collaborative article editing and good behavior on other topics. Good luck. Thatcher 02:45, 27 August 2009 (UTC) Modifying others commentsBluemarine, please refrain from modifying others comments as you did here. You know it is not acceptable for you to do so, as it will only escalate disputes and confrontations - see your restriction on what the community encourages you to do. If you feel a comment should be removed as it violates BLP, please use the BLP noticeboard. Otherwise, there is no urgency to remove comments made by other users on the talk page - you should request an administrator to do so, and let the administrator make the final call. If you don't wish to have an additional restriction imposed on you, it is important you do not modify others comments on the talk page. Ncmvocalist (talk) 12:38, 28 August 2009 (UTC) Hi Bluemarine, if you need to contact an admin about something like that, you can use the email this user link on the side bar when you vvsit my user or talk pages. Your Spanish is much better; would be easier for you. A Spanish paleoanthropologist named Juan Luis Arsuaga inspired the onsite essay Wikipedia:No angry mastodons. It's the most popular Wikipedia essay I've ever started (and good reading for your dilemma btw), but his biography hasn't progressed past a stub. It's slightly more developed at the Spanish Wikipedia and you could probably glean more material from his website (the link appears to be broken but ought to be easy to fix). Interested?
