Sunita Gogoi (born 11 November 1991)[1] is an Indian actress and dancer who appears in Tamil television shows and films. Sunita made her debut with the 2010 dancing competition show Jodi No.1 season 5 and finishing as the 3rd runner up.[2][3] She also participated in the Indian reality show, Bigg Boss 8 in 2024.

Early life

Sunita was born on 11 November 1991 and later brought up till her teenage years in Guwahati, Assam. She did schooling at Montfort School, Guwahati and later finished her graduation from Cotton College, Guwahati. After her schooling she slowly developed an interest in acting and migrated to Chennai, Tamil Nadu in hope of an acting career.[4]

Career

Sunita started her career as a dancer and participated in the dancing reality show Jodi No.1 season 5 along with Wong, her co dancer. The duo later emerged 4th place in the competition show. She later made her debut as an actress in the Tamil film 3 alongside actors Dhanush and Shruthi Hassan. In 2015, she once again returned to the show Jodi No.1 season 8 which aired on Star Vijay and participating as an contestant. She later finished as the runner up of the season.[5] In 2021, Raghava Lawrence cast Sunita in his film Kanchana 3 asking her to play a supporting role in the film.[6]

In 2024, Sunita joined the reality cooking show Cooku with Comali (season 5) as a Comali.[7][8] Later that year she participated in the reality show Bigg Boss 8 hosted by Vijay Sethupathi as a contestant. She was later evicted at 21st place on day 35 of the show.[9][10]

Personal life

In 2018, Sunita was accused of drunk driving and apparently got her driving license revoked from her. However she later clarified about this statement stating that it was false information and brushed off the issue.[11][12]
