At the time of the 2006 National Census, Si Joval's population was 3,026 in 631 households, when it was a village in Jafarbay-ye Jonubi Rural District of the Central District.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 3,479 people in 856 households,[7] by which time villages had been separated from the rural district in the establishment of Si Joval District. Si Joval was transferred to Qarah Su-ye Gharbi Rural District created in the new district.[4] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 3,747 people in 976 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
After the census, Si Joval was elevated to the status of a city.[8]
